Could not hear most of actors and Mics gave a lot of feedback. Not worth the price of admission
The show was great, it's the sound company that made it a bad experience. From the opening act all the way through the show and including the last song there were mic's not turned on and when they were there was terrible feedback.
This performance of Flashdance had us wanting to leave before intermission. The audio was horrible, you could not hear some of the actors because their Mics got shut off because of audio squealing, which then in turn made the songs sound awful. They butchered Maniac and Gloria to almost unrecognizable. I was extremely disappointed in this production. After this it was no wonder the theater seemed 1/2 empty. Not recommended. Amazed at the positive reviews from other cities.
Poor performance. The sound system failed many times. The dancing was very bad, it looked worse than a high school show. It was a rip off.
After watching the movie for so many years, wasn't sure whether this would work but it did! Great singing and dancing; love CICI - he reminded me of Eddie Murphy's role in Dreamgirls.
It was a good performance, but we were siting first row in the mezzanine and couldn't hear everything too well. Besides the fact that some microphones weren't working ones in a while. So we had to be very focused which made us tired. And it was a bit expensive for the experience we got.
The dancing and singing quality was mediocre. The audio quality when more than two performers spoke or sang was awful.
Poor sound system...some mics did not work while others blew out ur ears. Most actors great especially the lead female.
The show was fabulous. So many talented actors and singers. They did a great job at casting. I'd recommended this show to many. Great venue to have it in also.
Sound problems from the get go. Main character's mic was not working - even after switching out mic packs for her. Why they couldn't have a cordless mic waiting off stage for an emergency, I don't know, but we couldn't hear her through the first number and part of the second number. Audience was booing. Very frustrating. She was good. Her co-star playing Hurley was stiff and unnatural. The woman playing Kee Kee was awesome, but the rest of the back up singers were forgettable. The songs from the movie were really more just transition pieces and not actual numbers in the show. Very disappointing. The dancing was good. Pre-recorded backing tracks was cheesy.
Would have preferred more song and dance....last scene was awesome!
First 15 minutes the microphone was not turned on so you could not hear the main character. The acting and sing was not up to basic standard. We left before intermission along with several other people. I was so excited to see the show but was seriously let down.
it was all very average until the very last scene--she killed that last dance number where she was at the audition. A little inappropriate "strip club" scenes too that I didn't expect since the movie didn't really play up the "lap dancing" in the background like the play did. Brought my 12 year old daughter and regretted that. All 3 of us in attendance agreed that talent wasn't really top notch and the original songs were mostly ok. The femaie lead didn't have a working microphone until about 10 minutes in.
This show was horrible. Not only was the acting bad the dancing was a joke. The choreographer for this show should find another day job because this obviously isn't his calling. I was embarrassed for every person up there on that stage. By the time intermission hit my friend and I couldn't take any more and we ended up leaving. Don't waste your money on this crap!
Great voices, great dancing, such fun! Very professional.
It was great! I would highly recommend this musical, it was lots of fun!
Loved every minute of it. The vibe was energetic. The lead female really belted out the songs and her dancing was very energetic and flexible. I could actually understand the words that all the characters sang so it was easy to understand the story. There was good chemistry between the two main characters. Costumes and scenery were top notch. Love the Fisher Theater and getting in and out was very easy. Got a great parking space in the adjacent covered parking. Great mezzanine seats with no obstructed view. All in all a very pleasant experience!
Excellent!!! Singing and performances were spectacular!!! Dancing phenomenal!!!! Great show!!!
I was with a group of 5 ranging in age from 15 to 72 and all of us enjoyed Flashdance. The only downside was we had a hard time understanding the person who played Alex at times. We were amazed at the lighting, music and dancing. So glad we went.
we thoroughly enjoyed this musical. Very well done, very talented actors!
