    Memphis was Magnificent

    by koalas1963 on 5/6/15Warner Theatre - Washington

I bought tickets for me and my girl friends as a Christmas gift last year. We were really looking forward to our girls day out. Memphis was high energy with lots of songs and dancing. The actors were great and never missed a beat. My girl friends told me that this was "The Best Christmas Gift EVER!" I would totally recommend this show to all of my friends.

This is a road company for a show that left Broadway in 2012. However, the cast is superb and the show is still fresh. It received a well-deserved standing ovation. Highly recommend it.

    Memphis was wonderful

by Loolooooo on 5/5/15Warner Theatre - Washington

I love the Warner theatre, not a bad seat in the house and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. The play Memphis was filled with very talented actors and singers. The leading lady had an incredible voice that you could litsen to all day long and the leading guy was funny and genuine all in one. The Story line was easy to follow and even though this play took place back in the 50's, I found was still quite relavent and relatable. Highly reccomend.

    Formulaic Plot and Music

by kramnot on 5/5/15Warner Theatre - Washington

This musical is not that great. While the performers do a pretty good job, the music is not memorable and the plot is at best formulaic, you can figure out what is going to happen about 15 minutes ahead of time. The audience seemed to like it, but I was underwhelmed.

    Memphis is a must see!!!

by TheSecondLetter on 5/4/15Warner Theatre - Washington

    * Excellent writing * Excellent performances from each of the cast members * Excellent singing * Excellent character development Memphis is a period piece that captures the angst of touchy race relations, pulls no punches and helps the viewer to understand the varied perspectives of the players in the story.
