About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

    Could be better

by Marcel Evers on 5/7/24Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

The show started with an unexpected support act that slowed everything down and wasn't very uplifting. Bonnie was great but spent lots of time on a stool and behind keyboards, so few rocking moments. Theater in Knoxville made up for a lot of things

    Fabulous !!!

by Sue on 5/6/24Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

I completely enjoyed the Bonnie Raitt concert. I love the Tennessee Theatre and am always happy to see a show there; especially when it's a country music star like Bonnie Raitt !!! The whole show was wonderful to say the least.

    Concert was great

by Leigh4ua on 5/6/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

The concert was great. I we were disappointed that we weren’t allowed to take pictures or videos. We enjoy being able to capture a few pictures and short videos at concerts that we attend.

    Satisfied

by JD on 5/6/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

Listening to her Bluesy Soulful voice is like velvet to the touch. Leaps & Bounds better than John Mellencamp event. Bonnie and the band played their instruments very well. The opening act performed well too. It was a pleasant evening with Bonnie & the gang.

Four hits in 17 songs is not enough

by Jan from Atlanta on 5/5/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

We have seen her a number of times and love her voice and wonderful slide guitar. Her band is the best. She did 17 songs, but only four previous hits. That’s just not enough. She has done 18 albums, so I realize her catalog is deep. There is still plenty of room in a 17 song show to include more hits as well as deep cuts.

    Real Talent

by Michael V. on 5/5/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

As stars get up there in age they begin to lose their abilities - Bonnie has not. At 74, she made the whole room feel like an oasis from the trouble of the real world. The sound reinforcement was outstanding, every vocal nuance, slide guitar lick, B3 swell could be heard. For me being a musician and a perfectionist I wish I got from row tickets because you can’t put a price on what I experienced musically and spiritually.

    Obstructed view

by Bayouwonder on 5/5/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

I never would have bought the seats I did and paid that much money if I had been told I was buying seats with an obstructed view. You would think sitting in the second row this would not be a problem.

    Bonnie is fantastic!

by T&B G on 5/5/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

Bonnie Raitt, her band, Maia Sharp and the venue were all fabulous. Only wish MPAC would allow photos and some videos, but otherwise it was a great experience!
