THE SHOW WAS AWFUL! THE ACTING WAS AWFUL! THE COSTUMES WERE AWFUL! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!
The performance of this classic was outstanding! The ensemble cast female standouts were Rizzo Frenchy, and Patty. Rizzo's solo was perfection, she had the character down the minute she walked onstage. Patty Sue's comic timing was right on, would have liked to see more of her. The males were all great, Kinnikie, had the most charisma onstage and a stand out voice. The only negative, unfortunately was Sandy. There was no stage presence, very vanilla, at the end when she transitions to bad girl, she should have had more energy and her voice should have been stronger. She was still vanilla just dressed different. Staging and direction spot on.
Loved it, wish I would have known there was smoking so I could have warned my 6 year old. It is part of the act, I get it. The cast was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job
The accents, especially with the girls, were so over the top, and they took their voices up 2 octaves to do it, became so distracting. It was odd to see songs during a musical when the actors picked up microphones to sing them! I've never seen that before, unless it was a prop, which they used in some scenes as well. The prop 50's mics were cool, but the others were just weird.
I paid Broadway money for a high school level musical. Most of the iconic music of the movie was either changed or not sang at all. It was good but not worth more than $10 per ticket.
My girlfriend, our daughters and I were so excited about seeing this show. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. First off, there must have been a problem with the sound equipment because the lead performers were holding microphones while singing. That is completely unacceptable for a stage performance! Our 10 year old daughters are very familiar with the movie. They recognized and constantly commented on the fact that not only were the songs being sung out of order; but they were being sung by the wrong characters. In addition, the new songs created for this stage production were not particularly moving. The idea of bringing "Grease" to the stage is a wonderful idea and apparently very challenging. Sadly, this production needs to go back to the drawing board. I would have liked to have heard more of the original songs (adored by many), seen a larger supporting cast (allowing for a much more dynamic/exciting show), and better costumes. It was a gallant effort but I wouldn't recommend it. The show fell way short of my expectations and I would really like my money back!!!
What a GREAT show! All the best parts, all the best fun. We absolutely loved the show.
Outstanding production. Acting, singing, music very well done. Lots of energy, fun, feel good. A must see. It was great entertainment. All the performers were well cast and came through with solid, fabulous performances. Well worth the price of admission.
I went with a group of 5 people of varying ages and we all just felt something was missing and it did not meet our expectations. First, our favorite song "You're The One That I Want" was not part of the program. The use of hand-held microphones and stand-up microphones was distracting and restricted movement by the cast. The sound was not clear at times. The actors themselves changed the set scenes by moving the props in and out which was visible to the audience. There were some enjoyable moments, but overall was a disappointment.
My daughter and I enjoy it very much, the whole evening was wonderful. From the proposal in the audience and all the former actors who were in the original Grease. It was such a a great musical I recommend it highly, the only thing I was a little disappointed with was the ending, I was looking foward to hearing I got chills there multiplying, but did not get to see that because they went in a different. Regardless Loved it!
I was expecting more. Performers actually had to use corded mikes and at times it was hard to hear the lead singer as the background singers drowned him/her out. My family did enjoy the show, but we were expecting a little higher quality of the venue.
My daughter and I had a great time at the Grease musical! We loved the music, dancing and the variety of the cast. Members included seasoned actors and introduced new talent. The vintage costumes and set were also very typical of the 50's era and of course very appropriate and aesthetically pleasing! Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this show to anyone.
I took my 16 year old son we both loved it! The cast was excellent and great singers! Both my son and I would go to see it again!
I was only an average show. The cast looked very tired and some did not even sing when all chorus sang.
another great show by the producers, director and actors at the dinner theatre. Am always waiting for the next production. Best bargain for a night of entertainment in town.
UTEP hit a home run in performing Grease! The show was very entertaining, had everyone singing along and injected comedy throughout the show. Great show!
There were some good voices, but overall I thought the performance was quite amateurish and not up to the usual UTEP Dinner Theater standards. The girl who played Sandy was very talented.
Great Great time watching grease cant say enough about the Actors Musicians and all the Employees of CASA..........9 Thumbs Up...!!!!!!!!!
The show was amazing and very entertaining! If I saw shows twice this would be one of them!
Overall it was fun. I was expecting it to follow the movie a little more closely than it did. Also, it was out of sequence, but I understand you have to adapt to the stage size. People taking their young daughters found it to be a little more risque than what the movie is, so be careful on that one. I do recommend it, but go with knowing it is different and not the Grease you fell in love with on the big screen. The actors were really good.
