BILL COSBY ON TOUR:

Legendary family funnyman Bill Cosby has been making America laugh for over half a century, proving that clean, wholesome humor still has a welcome place in today's stand-up circuit. From his days as Jell-O's spokesman to his role on the eponymous Cosby Show, his folksy demeanor and all-inclusive comedy have made him a national treasure, with a fanbase that spans generations. Hot on the heels of 2013'S Bill Cosby: Far From Finished — his first TV standup special in 30 years — Cosby is once again on tour, treating audiences around the country to his signature brand of family-friendly comedy.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Cosby  was a class clown as a young student, but he was also a high achiever, acting as captain of the baseball team and class president. After a demanding work schedule led him to drop out of school, he joined the Navy, continuing to hone his comedic talent while shooting  the breeze with fellow servicemen. Soon after his time in the service, Cosby began performing at clubs around the country, ultimately landing a pivotal spot on NBC's Tonight Show. That appearance gained him the exposure he needed to break into acting, paving the way for his Emmy-nominated role on the show I Spy and his popular Saturday morning cartoon Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. His biggest success, however, was the era-defining Cosby Show, which dominated airwaves in the '80s as the most popular TV show in the country for five straight seasons. In addition to numerous acclaimed acting roles, Cosby has continued to perform and record stand-up over the years, racking up a whopping nine Grammys for his comedy albums and cementing his place among the giants of American comedy.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Enjoyed 2hours of laughs! He combined some old material with new material and the result was great laughs. It was a pleasure to experience good clean fun --- no profanity or descriptive sexual encounters used to get a cheap laugh."

"Still he can captivate an audience for 2 1/2 hours while sitting in his chair just telling us hilarious stories as if he was in our living room, just making us laugh our heads off!"

"Cosby is a master. He spoke for 2.5 hours without a note or a prompt. He just told funny story after funny story."

    Cosby was awesome!

by paco842002 on 3/19/15Heymann Performing Arts Center - Lafayette

Putting the scandal aside, and having bought the tickets before it even came out, we had a group of about 20 go to see Cosby do standup and it was great! We all wore our Cosby sweaters and he had us cracking up. His delivery style was SUPER slow which is not for everyone, but his timing was impeccable! I'd explain it like 50% is just how he does it, and probably 50% is because he is 77 years old. He shared stories from his childhood, commented on some bible/religious material (in a fun, light-hearted way), made a ton of comparisons to men and women, and even got down and rolled around the floor for a bit from his recent past. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the show and will never forget seeing this legend in person!

Absolutely amazing show! Bill stayed on stage for 2 straight hours and had us all in stitches. Anyone who can make me laugh that hard and NOT be profane at all deserves legend status.

    Clean and humorous

by Vgrayr on 1/20/15The Buell Theatre - Denver

It is nice to be able to see a comedian and not worry about language and racism making you laugh with discomfort, not humor.

    Funny Night!

by INeedAShot on 1/20/15The Buell Theatre - Denver

We had a great time seeing Cosby. He is funny without being crude. We laughed the entire time. Protesters were there, but there were not many and they were under control. I couldn't help but notice he is having trouble seeing.
