BILL COSBY ON TOUR:
Legendary family funnyman Bill Cosby has been making America laugh for over half a century, proving that clean, wholesome humor still has a welcome place in today's stand-up circuit. From his days as Jell-O's spokesman to his role on the eponymous Cosby Show, his folksy demeanor and all-inclusive comedy have made him a national treasure, with a fanbase that spans generations. Hot on the heels of 2013'S Bill Cosby: Far From Finished — his first TV standup special in 30 years — Cosby is once again on tour, treating audiences around the country to his signature brand of family-friendly comedy.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Cosby was a class clown as a young student, but he was also a high achiever, acting as captain of the baseball team and class president. After a demanding work schedule led him to drop out of school, he joined the Navy, continuing to hone his comedic talent while shooting the breeze with fellow servicemen. Soon after his time in the service, Cosby began performing at clubs around the country, ultimately landing a pivotal spot on NBC's Tonight Show. That appearance gained him the exposure he needed to break into acting, paving the way for his Emmy-nominated role on the show I Spy and his popular Saturday morning cartoon Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. His biggest success, however, was the era-defining Cosby Show, which dominated airwaves in the '80s as the most popular TV show in the country for five straight seasons. In addition to numerous acclaimed acting roles, Cosby has continued to perform and record stand-up over the years, racking up a whopping nine Grammys for his comedy albums and cementing his place among the giants of American comedy.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Enjoyed 2hours of laughs! He combined some old material with new material and the result was great laughs. It was a pleasure to experience good clean fun --- no profanity or descriptive sexual encounters used to get a cheap laugh."
"Still he can captivate an audience for 2 1/2 hours while sitting in his chair just telling us hilarious stories as if he was in our living room, just making us laugh our heads off!"
"Cosby is a master. He spoke for 2.5 hours without a note or a prompt. He just told funny story after funny story."
Bill Cosby was a great entertainer. He was engaging and everyone was having a great time!
I really enjoyed the show as Mr. Cosby brings the audience involved and continues to make others laugh. What really made me laugh is his theory of him making all this money and for Father's Day his children brought him a pair of those crock shoes. Bill love you and would love to see you again.
The Bill Cosby show was like a conversation with a friend. It was interesting to hear his insights on people and life. His stories and show have messages on several levels.
Enjoyed seeing Bill Cosby at the showroom at Turningstone. Wasnt ready for him to be heckled like he was but he handled it in great fashion. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand most of the evening. I'd never seen him live before but he was just a natural great talent.
Although I LOVE Bill Cosby and many of the things he has done, this performance was weak. Starting out with his experience at a casino and the thousands of dollars he lost was not funny for a crowd of people who are living in a tough economy and can't imagine losing that amount of money. Few things were funny. I saw him years ago and he was much better when he did a show on the Bible. Great guy. Great comedian. Weak performance and material this time.
Cosby seemed annoyed at having to perform. The performance was good but tedious at first. My only real complaint was the seating. We had the most expensive seats right in front of the stage and were packed in like sardines.
Mr. Cosby's performance was long and boring. Like listening to your once funny uncle at a family reunion. He was just sitting on a chair talking with and to the audience and sometimes he was funny and many times not. Seating was cramped and awkward with no leg room and fifteen minutes into the performance I was dying to get out of there. People around me were laughing before he even spoke, anticipating the funny that rarely materialized. Everybody was rooting for him, willing him to be funny but it wasn't until his last joke that the real Bill Cosby showed up. He did his dentist routine, which I've heard before and still I laughed 'til I cried. It was classic, side splitting funny and I wish the previous hour had been half as good.
Excellent show. At times it was if Bill Cosby was sitting in our living room talking to us. He is incredibly talented. We laughed so hard and at the end he told one of his classic pieces and it was if we heard it for the first time.
The show was fabulous! I've been a Bill Cosby fan since the 1960's and Bill has not lost a step. He addresses real life issues in a hilarious way that is unequalled by any other comedian. My son, who is autistic, also attended with me. He loves Bill Cosby also and thoroughly enjoyed his performance. He has memorized most of his comedy acts and it is therapeutic for him. I would highly recommend that anyone who has the chance to see Bill Cosby in person should do so! The man is a "once in a lifetime" treat. Thanks! TBear78
We thoroughly enjoyed Bill Cosby. What a high class entertainer. Would recommend his performances to everyone.
I went to see Bill Cosby in May, not sure what to expect. He's better than ever. I'm glad I bought the tickets on a whim. He's got new material and a new perspective as he continually evolves. I highly recommend the show.
