It's a musical about music of the period told through Carole King's experience that explains how the music was developed and the people involved. It tells the story of two duos, King and her husband plus another couple, who compete against each other to write top ten hits. The hits are then performed by reenactments of popular groups such as the Drifters. Humor and pathos weaves through the story of a difficult marriage. All told with quickly changing sets and scenes, the musical keeps entertaining without interludes. Gammage provided a perfect experience with easy entry and minimal security interruptions. Very nice venue, good seats with expansive knee room allowing easy access to interior seats.

Great show the only problem which to many was a big issue was not being allowed into the show until 15 minutes before. You had a full house crammed into the hallways for up to an hour many of which had physical issues. We were told the show made the decision but it was very inconvenient and the gammage should not allow this to happen

This was our first visit to ASU Gammage and we really enjoyed the venue as well as the show. I greatly appreciated the parking being so close seeing as it was one of the rare days we have rain here in Az. Once inside there were plenty of refreshment stands with little or no lines. The prices were reasonable. The ladies room was large to handle the crowd and very clean. Our seats were very nice with ample room for people to walk to their seats without stepping on toes. That was a big plus. The show itself was just wonderful. The sound, the music, the acting, all fantastic!!

The show was terrific. A blend of a play about Carole King's history interspersed with the songs she created (along with some others from the same era). I did not realize how many hits she was responsible for. The actress playing Carole was a great singer but she did not do all the singing. The others were also great. My group all agreed that if we could we would stay and watch it again that same day. The parking garage was a disaster. It was so far backed up to get in that many people were late. We found parking across the street for less money and less crowded.

Sound and lighting are very important to making a musical enjoyable. You did a great job in this regard.

The sound system was unbelievable The story & acting were great & enjoyed the entire performance. Our seats were one row from the back of theater so couldn't see much but we could still hear great.

We are so happy we bought tickets for this! We’d happily buy them again and see this a second time!

Visiting Arizona and had the chance to see the touring company of Beautiful at ASU Gammage theatre. We had seen Beautiful on Broadway and this cast was even better. Special thanks to Kennedy Caughell who brought Carole King to life on the stage and had the full house hanging on every note and word.

This show was entertaining from begining to end! The talent was superior and really enjoyed the story!
