Great atmosphere! The castvwas amazing and very entertaining!
Fabulous show! Very memorable holiday experience. Fast paced enough to keep the attention of a three year old and a six year old.
Amazing performance by the cast. Wonderful show for kids and adults alike.
The Grinch was magical for my grandchildren. So well done. Funny. Great costumes. Music was wonderful. 10 out of 10!!!
Fun show for young and old alike. Love the old and young versions of Max. Adds a lot to the story line.
Took the kids to see the Grinch at Fox Theater...we had a great experience. The plays does not have intermission...it goes on for 90 minutes straight. This proved to be too much for the adults and most of my row were asleep...the kids were all eyes though! There were not any concessions during the play, so get them before the show starts. The show was really creative in the story telling and the effects were surprisingly well done. The Grinch character was very engaging for the audience and there was some audience participation for the kids. I would recommend to take the kids to see this at least once while they are elementary school aged...
We Took my 5 yr old grandson. He truly enjoyed the show. Fun to watch him interact with the show even though we were so far back. Just perfect for him.
It was pretty good. It added humor and some audience participation. My 4 year old loved it. I wish it had more songs from the actually movie but their songs were good. It was about 1.5 hours long. Could of been a bit shorter. Don't be rude and show up late to the show. We dealt with late comers for the first 20 minutes of the show. So we missed the beginning. Overall I would see it agin next year with my daughter.
The characters were amazing! They did a great job.
Was a great production with a fantastic set design. All the actors that an amazing job but especially the two dogs in the Grinch.
I was expecting so much more from this production. They actually sang TOO much and it was hard to understand what they were saying. A lot of the acting was over the top and annoying. Grinch was amazing but that’s about all. Kids liked it - none of the 8 adults did...one even fell asleep.
I took my daughter and granddaughter (age 7) to this show for a girl's day out. We had so much fun seeing it at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The show was funny and true to the original with some other modern jokes thrown in. The actor playing the Grinch was wonderful! Loved the costumes of the Whos - just as I pictured it. We got a ticket for the Fox Garage when we purchased our tickets for the show. $15 is a great deal to park in Detroit. However, the lines to get into the garage were long and wound around the block. We would have liked to have been a little earlier but made it in plenty of time. I would suggest that you plan on getting to this venue earlier than you think you should in order to have time to park and get settled. Overall, a great experience!
The show was ok at best, the first half just had too much singing and dancing with the Who's. Our kids are in their teens and none of us enjoyed it that much, I could see little kids would enjoy it though. For adults it would need an adaptation with some more substance.
The show had all the classical elements of the original movie with a twist. The costumes and the props made the characters come to life like we were in the movie. The actors were Phenomenal.
not the worst play but certainly not the best nor average
The acting, singing and dancing was awesome. However, the spin on the Grinch story was not my favorite. 2 years ago was way better.
The play was wonderful. My youngest daughters first time at the Fox. Unfortunately the adults were the problem, arriving late ,moving around during the performance. I just wish the ushers would have closed the doors and stopped seating people as this was a major disruption. Continued to seat people almost to the end. This was not my first play and every play I have been you were expected to be seated by curtain.i do understand this was also for children but again the children were just fine it was the parents. All in all it was worth the 2.5 hour drive to attend. Great Saturday afternoon, money well spent.
We loved the costumes and stage sets. The sound was a bit off. At first I felt like it was prerecorded. It may have been just the sound system. Although a family show and children are expected, a good rule of thumb should be no kids under four years old. If your child is still drinking from a bottle and can not sit through a movie at home, he/she probably can't sit through a show at the theater. It isn't an inexpensive event for anyone.
The Grinch is a classic, I was confused why there wasn’t some of the original songs and famous lines I look forward to hearing from The Grinch. They let people in after the show began and this made it VERY distracting to the audience who was there on time for the performance. The lady in front of us was taking pictures with her flash ON and recording with her phone in the air and when we asked her to please stop because it was extremely distracting she used fowl language and gave us the finger! When we got security to help us with the uncomfortable situation, THEY DID NOTHING! Mind you, she had a child on her lap and we also had a young children with us. I’m am extremely disappointed and appalled at this situation. A night out our family looked forward for a month turned into a night no one enjoyed.
Really kept my kids attention. Loved the fake snow and confetti!!!
