    Comedy better than the illusions

by DJ on 3/5/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

It was enjoyable and kid friendly but good adult jokes too. I thought shin Lynn was going to be there. But that was an illusion too. The guy from South Korea had a nice card fanning dance and did a closing promo but would have liked more from him. The British mentalist was the best and without him the show would have been a dud. But give props to the host magician as he was very funny and also made the show. Especially the interaction with the audience. The other guys well it was good but seemed like the same stuff we have all seen before. I give props to the dare devil who held his breath for two minutes as I realize it takes a long time to master antarkumbakaka For that long. On the other hand it was a nice mix of things. It was good but not sure I would go see it again.

    Very Entertaining

by Surfntan on 3/4/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

The Illusionists is a good show and the performers all did an excellent job. The show itself is a 5-star show, but not as compared to other top Broadway shows I have attended. You will not be disappointed and while we do not have children - it is a great show for both children and adults. There is comedy/humor only adults will get and also comedy/humor kids can relate too.

Poor show - not Broadway caliber

by NJ on 3/4/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Thought it would be more like the David Copperfield show in Vegas. This was really poor - almost silly - maybe ok for very young children but definitely not of the caliber appropriate for Broadway.

I was not very impressed. I left 20 minutes before the show was over. Very much for children

by Magikfun on 3/4/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Amazing and talented magicians and artists. Every act was absolutely amazing. The card artist, mind reader, escape artist, master of ceremonies all brought their own magic to the stage with humor and wonder. Loved it all!

    Good family fun

by Park & Al on 3/4/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

We had a nine-year-old and five-year-old with us and thought it was family and child appropriate. Moved along at a good pace. Break in the middle for stretching/bathroom. Each magician brought their own flair and skill set matching their titles. Seemed to be well cast to cover a lot of different magic styles. Kids loved it.

We took our 10 year old grandson, and we enjoyed 2+ hr. show

by Bill on 3/3/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

5 different performers...all GREAT...each performer had his own "specialty" and appeared 2 or 3 times throughout the 2 hour program. Each was unique, and each was excellent. I've seen shows on Broadway, in Hollywood, aboard cruise ships and other venues...and "The Illusionists" was, by far, one of the best live shows we've ever seen.

    First class magic show

by B. K. on 3/3/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

All of the performers had a unique take that are for a memorable and enjoyable show. Sometimes one person can get boring each of these magicians is capable of carrying their own show, but together it made for a complete presentation of many types of illusion that my whole party enjoyed.

    Illusion

by Raeann on 3/3/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

We had great seats at a great price!!! We were about 4 rows back of the stage to the right.. Closest I have ever been to the stage! Thank you to the person who sold their tickets for 58.00 a piece! The show was great! The mentalist was great he was funny and very impressive. The gentleman that did the card illusions was fantastic! The daredevil was great as was the other illusionist! The MC was Hilarious and his bit with the kids was great! It is a show that was great for the adults and kids alike. It should have been a full house! A lot of people missed out on a great show! I would see it again!

Don’t be fooled by the Illusionists

by Michael on 3/3/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

We were excited to go to this show, hoping for some fantastic illusions and tricks. Instead what we saw was recycled, or obvious- and many audience members who were obviously plants during the mind reading / mentalist portion. Just not very entertaining.

The venue absolutely spectacular to hold some amazingly talented cast of magicians. I loved every minute of every magic act so different in styles and types. Would love to return again some day if they return.

    It was ok

by M. H. on 3/3/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

The show was ok. Considering it was supposed to be a “Broadway” type show I was expecting to be wowed by the illusionists. Far from it. It was a typical type magic show. The little kids from the audience were the best part of the show.

    Just okay...

by Christine on 3/3/20San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Maybe I set my expectations too high. Don’t get me wrong, some of the acts were amazing. Others were just okay. I expected more of those what the heck moments and I didn’t get it. I thought the mentalist was amazing. Interacted well with the crowd and very energetic. The French guy was great as well...not really sold on the others. It’s just my personal opinion.
