    Fantastic!!!

    by Tom on 8/3/23

John Lodge put on a Strong Concert at the Fred Kavlli Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks Saturday evening! He played a lot of famous hit songs from the Moody Blues catalog. His Band was Tight and proficient with the Moody Blues Sound! He also played All of the songs from the “ Days of Future Passed “ album! The music was Beautiful, Mellow and Hard Rockin’ that only the Moodies can do! The venue is a top tier concert hall with a clear and powerful sound system and great acoustics! Also Kudos to the very nice Community Volunteers who help out with the Ushering!

Songs brought back so many memories! Band sounded great and tight. The intermission seemed long for the length of the concert which made it long….But a Great evening!

Lovely to See You Again My Friend!

by Uncle Gary of SoCal on 8/1/23

Outstanding show. I got to see John perform "Days of Future Passed"at the end of March this year at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheatre, where the Coachella (Valley) Symphony performed it with him and the 10,000 Light Years Band. They played that first, then John did a handful of his Moodies' favorites. At the Fred Kavli Theater, John and the band first did about 50 minutes of his Moodies songs and his solo stuff, which included "Saved By the Music", a song I never thought I would hear live, but did have that opportunity 4 summers ago at the Royal Affair Tour which took place at the Five Points Arena in Irvine, California. What a pleasure it was to hear that song live again. This concert was just a positive, uplifting experience, and like many other fans, I thank John for taking the trouble to keep the "Days of Future Passed"album alive and available for older and younger fans. And to John I can only say: "Thank YOU for keeping the faith!!!

Amazing Concert by a "Veteran Cosmic Rocker"

by Mike from Thousand Oaks on 8/1/23

I was stunned. I have long been a Moody Blues fan and chose to attend the John Lodge with nostalgia at the top of mind. John Lodge blew me away. He and his band delivered one of the best concerts I have ever attended. They were very professional, engaging, entertaining, and outperformed my every expectation. They delivered on every Moody Blues/Blue Jays piece they played such as old hits like Ride My See Saw or Isn't Life Strange or deep cuts like One More Time to Live or a nod to his departed bandmate with Dr. Livingstone, I Presume, and the entire signature album Days of Future Passed. Even the added vocals of Jon Anderson of Yes worked. My hat is off to John Lodge. He is truly the best and, to borrow the title of the song written by his friend and bandmate Ray Thomas, is truly a "Veteran Cosmic Rocker!"

    None better

    by Redman on 8/1/23

The concert in Thousand Oaks went off as expected. I have been to many, many concerts over the last 48 years and John Lodge has always exceeded my expectations. He is a positive force in the music industry that is very rare. John if you see this know that you and your misses are absolutely awesome people, sticking out the long trips away from home takes awesome people and Sir you are it.

Left Early, Not What I Expected

    by okrgat on 8/1/23

Prior to us leaving at intermission, there was only 1 song that I recognized. The rest of the first part was lacking.

    Not what I expected

by A bit underwhelming on 8/1/23

Days of future past was an amazing album. It should be performed with a full orchestra, not a recording of an orchestra. I couldn't hear the bass clearly even though I had good seats. John Lodge played "air flute"either being synthesized or previously recorded. Wearing leather pants was a bit odd for a man of his age. Vocals were not up to moody blues standards. I have seen the Moodies at least a dozen times since 1970 in various forms at numerous venues. I rate this performance as a 3 because of it's nostalgic value.
