About

Alt-rock three-piece Halocene are a homegrown act from Phoenix, Arizona, who have been in the music game since 2008. An industrious, 100 percent DIY project, Halocene have achieved a huge local following and opened for such high-profile punk acts as Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy, and toured on Vans Warped Tour.

Comprising Joe Polizzi on drums and married couple Addie Nicole Amick (vocals) and Bradley Amick (guitar/vocals), Halocene developed a major following on YouTube early on, where they frequently posted covers of popular songs such as Linkin Park's "Numb," System Of A Down's "Chop Suey" and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." As of 2019, they'd collected more than 150 million views and won YouTube's Best Cover Ever. They've also collaborated with channels such as Kurt Hugo Schneider, Our Last Night, NerdOut, and First to Eleven.

In addition to attracting an organic social following, Halocene does all of their own music, production, videos, artwork, merchandise, social media, and promotion. They're also one of the first bands to find audiences via Twitch, where they regularly livestream their performances on Tuesdays and Thursdays and invite audiences to support their work on Patreon.

Over the course of their career, Halocene have released multiple albums -- original songs and covers -- starting with 2011's Can You Hear Us Now? In 2014, the trio released their first We've Got It Covered album featuring reimaginings of songs by Rihanna ("We Found Love") and Whitney Houston ("I Wanna Dance With Somebody").

In 2015, Halocene shared We've Got It Covered: Vol 2 featuring a wide range of covers, such as Taylor Swift ("Bad Blood"), Meghan Trainor ("Dear Future Husband"), and more, followed by 2016's We've Got It Covered: Vol 3, which featured covers of Ariana Grande ("Dangerous Woman") and Selena Gomez ("Hands To Myself"), among others. Halocene have released five more covers albums since then, plus albums paying tribute to My Chemical Romance (2021's Our Chemical Romance) and Evanescence (2022's Bring Me To Life: Evanescence Tribute).

In December 2021, Halocene released the original song "Warrior State of Mind," which was featured on the band's 2021 EP Vita Nova, which they later expanded into a lengthier Deluxe Edition in 2022.

"Though it's been a grueling road to get where we are, we're very proud that we never gave up on ourselves," Addie told VoyagePhoenix of the band's long-standing independent ethos in 2019. "People's consumption of music has clearly morphed into something we've never seen before. One thing that sets us apart is that we welcome these new transformations with open arms. It has allowed us to persevere as a group to evolve with our viewers/listeners and cater to the way they enjoy musical entertainment."

    An amazing and magical experience

    by V. B. on 10/5/23

I drove almost 4 hours to watch one of the most amazing concerts I've seen. The performance was like the energy of Hayley Williams from Paramore and the vibe of a professional rock concert. Good job to Halocene and No Resolve for being one of the best rockstars out there 🤘

Drove 4 hrs and worth it!

by Asad Del Rey on 6/8/23

As my title says I drove 4 hrs to see them. I wouldn’t do this for any other artist. I’ve been a fan of theirs for a while. I saw them at Elevation 27 located close to VA Beach. Addie (Halocene vocalist) and Lauren Babic did a great job complimenting each other with their vocals. The other members also did a great job. They are a well oiled machine. This venue also had a cool LED screen that kept changing. I hope Halocene continues to tour. I will definitely see them again!

    Halocene at Elevation 27

by Thea Lou on 6/7/23Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

This was my 1st time at Elevation 27. We traveled down from Richmond. The place is small but open. There's not a bad spot in the house. It's just the right size for intimate concerts. Halocene was awesome. They have a fun set with plenty of energy a really great casual vibe to their audience interaction. Addi has amazing vocals and Lauren Babic adds such a cool dynamic to the sound. I highly recommend seeing this band play..... We plan on returning to Elevation 27 for shows and seeing Halocene the very next chance we can!
