    Fantastic performance

by Nana on 12/21/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

My granddaughter performed in the Nutcracker - it was beautiful and breathe taking! Loved seeing all the children (and adults) who had to work very hard to provide a professional performance.

    Ballet was OK

by Betsy on 12/20/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The ballet was OK - for the ticket price was expecting a bit more professional dancing, great the music was a live orchestra. We all love the kids in act 1 - but felt there was too much dancing left to the children tjhat continued into the second act. Clara should be a professional dancer or of a higher level, not a student. For a student Clara was excellent, but for >150$ ticket, expected a bit more professional dancing.

    Awesome

by Ahawk on 12/19/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We were fortunate to have the vip package. While the intermission was cut short and we couldn't get promised drinks, the show was amazing and backstage pass after the show was fun.

It is not ballet. It is dance performance

by Natali on 12/19/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I didn’t get why was it called ballet. It is dance performance not ballet. Some of the dancers were moved in asynchronous mode. Costumes were good and I think this show was super interesting for children. But please don’t confuse the audience calling it is “ballet”. Because when you see word “ballet” you expect something like a real classic ballet not dancing

If you’re a minute late they won’t let you in

by Asw8 on 12/19/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We were waiting in line to be seated when the show started. Suddenly they shut the doors and told us told us the Goh ballet production company did not allow anyone in after the show had started (even though we were in line waiting to be seated for some time). We weren’t allowed in until intermission. There were over 60 of us on the top floor alone that got locked out. My young daughter was devastated. I completely understand the distraction it can be, but even the venue admitted they were the most inflexible production company they work with and that it was causing issues. Apparently if you go to the bathroom during the show you are also not allowed in. I understand the reasoning behind this as it can be a distraction, I just wouldn’t try to attend this with kids because of these inflexible rules.

    Performance: Beautiful

by Jess H on 12/19/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

There were so many wonderful things about this performance of the Nutcracker. The only reason it was rated 4 was the seating. I could just fit but my partner had to sit sideways in order to sit in the seats. I understand it is an older building, but even just a heads up would have been nice about the maximum width of the seats. We would love to see this performance next year, but aren't quite sure we want to risk the seats again.

    Well done as usual

by Pizzapunx on 12/17/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

High budget well done production. This years sugar plum fairy was excellent. Really enjoyed Uncle Drosselmeyer and the Spanish themed dancers also. Some room for improvement in a couple areas but nothing worth mentioning
