The ballet was wonderful. The ticket purchase and use experience was easy and parking was excellent. The ballet itself was exquisite and the seats were spectacular.
Kukhar and Stoyanov were announced in the leading roles, due to Alexander’s injury they were replaced with other actors, which was announced after the performance on the ballet’s Instagram page. The couple appeared occasionally for a short time in the first part: Catherine in heels in the role of a coach for the project “Dancing with the Stars.”
Very talented dancers, beautiful music, rich colors. Wonderful experience!
Dancers were beautiful of course but a little more needed to me done to communicate that Giselle's beloved was intended for someone else. I am not sure audience understood the betrayal which is key to the story. Second half - while dancers exquisite - i don't think the costumes conveyed that these women were furious ghosts dancing men to their destruction. I'd like to point out that the Woodman (male dancer in the green costume) did the most outstanding job of conveying his part of the story and dancing beautifully.
A WONDERFUL ballet and just in time for the Christmas Season! Beautiful costumes, scenery, and world-class dancing! The only improvement would have been a live orchestra.
I found the story , choreography,. We energy of the dancers and music enjoyable.I would have preferred that a live orchestra perform the music However I realize that canned music or recorded music was necessary under the circumstances.
We had a wonderful time. The performance was beautiful, funny and magical.
Recently attended a performance of Snow White by the Grand Kyiv Ballet at the Paramount in Seattle. Honestly, I was really disappointed by the show, especially with all the advertising (and even a pre-show announcement moments before the production started) stating how impressive the show is. The reality is that the Grand Kyiv’s production of Snow White is similar to a community theater production. From set design (garish lighting) to costumes (homemade or off-the-shelf costuming), the production falls short. Additionally, the dancing was inconsistent across the company. If you’re used to high caliber ballet performances, such as the Royal Opera, NYC, or Bolshoi, then the Grand Kyiv will not stack up. However, if you’re looking to introduce young kids to the ballet, the simple, fun storyline of Snow White might be a perfect way to spend a couple hours.
Brave troupe, music and choreography was not good. I am glad I went, but can't say it was good ballet, sadly. Sneeze's sneezes were the highlight of the show! Also, The Paramount is not my favorite venue. Poor sound production which hasn't improved over the 20 years I've seen shows there. Accessibility is terrible for mobility impaired. Theatre staff were wonderfully nice and helpful.
