i followed giant rooks for four north american shows from nyc - charlotte. i can’t get enough of this band. they are literal rockstars, and so lovely in every way. i am trying to do anything i can to see them for more shows even if i have to travel across the world to germany for it. these shows are absolutely addictive, the vibes are fantastic, and i simply cannot stop thinking about those shows and how much i wish i could go back.
not only is every song a literal work of art, the band members and team are too !! the (very handsome) band have so much stage presence and yet are so genuine and friendly when off the stage. the photographer, managers, opening acts, every single one of those people are incredible. talented, fun, thoughtful, and just absolute joys to interact with. even the crowd is usually happy and agreeable. i made so many friends at these shows and feel so honored to have experienced these concerts. i’ve been to more concerts than i can count these past few years but this one is definitely among the greatest. please, for the love of god, go to a giant rooks show and you will be so glad you did.
with regards to one show in particular, i’d like to make a shout out as well. jelani m, the live nation security for the show at the underground in charlotte, made the experience even more amazing. he was so kind and helpful, extremely accommodating and understanding. never in my life have i been to a concert with such a good-hearted, competent, and compassionate head of security like him. he worked with us rather than against us, which is a breath of fresh air and so appreciated. at the same time, he meant business, and whenever something needed to be addressed, he did so promptly, skillfully, and fairly. jelani m truly represents the joy that is a live music experience as he makes it clear that artists, concertgoers, and staff are all united by their shared passion for live performances. we can work together and have the most magical concert experiences as long as we all treat eachother with compassion the way jelani does. so thank you very much to him !!
in short, buy the concert ticket. this one is unforgettable. you’ll never know how much a concert can change your life until you get home afterwards and wonder how you even lived beforehand. just make sure to line up another concert for shortly after to take the edge off the post-concert depression.
