Giant Rooks, founded in 2015 by two cousins and three friends in a rehearsal room in Hamm, is probably the most promising band Germany has had in a long time. Their accomplishments so far are impressive and multiple. Their monthly listeners on Spotify are in the millions, and they've brought venues from all over the world to maximum capacity, like House of Blues (San Diego), and stages in Rome to Paris to Manchester. In Germany, they play venues that other artists only play after 15 years of constant touring.

Between 2015 and 2019, the five-piece played more than 350 shows and established their reputation as an extraordinary live act. Last year they released their internationally acclaimed debut album "ROOKERY" and it entered the German charts at #3. The 12-song album, including the radio hits "Wild Stare" and "Watershed", is a powerful artistic statement that highlights the diverse and rich musical palette of the band. Their Kanye- esque hip hop beats, song structures drawn from the Bob Dylan archives, and soundscapes dripping with the seductive qualities of Bon Iver, all work together to create a modern and unique sound born out of their desire to not be pigeon-holed into one genre. They also released "Rookery Live Tapes" in June 2021, an EP full of beautifully stripped- down versions of songs from their debut album.

    Giant Rooks, More Like Giants Of Rock

    This was my first time at the 9:30 Club, and it was also Giant Rooks' first DC show ever! The energy from the second they stepped onstage to the second they said goodnight was absolutely electrifying. Fred, Luca, Jonny, Finn S. and Finn T. put on such an incredible show that by the end of the night I felt like I was on top of the world and now, 3 days later, I'm still coming down from the excitement. Their opening act, Friedberg, was another stellar performance full of great energy, beautiful songs, and amazing performers that I can't wait to hear more from in the coming years. By and large THE best concert I've ever been to in my 24 years. I'm incredibly excited to see what comes next for both groups

    HANDS DOWN BEST CONCERT EVER!! The energy was really there that night it was UNREAL!! The Giant Rooks are my favorite band! I love seeing them play and just being in their element. Can’t wait for them to come back!

    I found Giant Rooks on TikTok and quickly became obsessed with their sound. The concert was BETTER than I could have ever imagined. Fred’s voice is as pure in real life as it is on track. It was an electric night with high energy and a warm feeling. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a LOT of concerts. The room was welcoming and you could tell every single person was enjoying themselves. The band brought such a high energy!

    Amazing show!

    Giant Rooks put on a great performance! The set list included most of my faves. They were having fun on stage and the crowd as having a blast. 9:30 Club is a cool venue. I was on the balcony which was less crowded and appreciated the tiered standing area up there since I’m a shorty. Great view of the stage and room to dance! I had never heard the opener, Friedberg, before but they were great too and gained some new fans for sure!

    We went to Boston on 4/11 and New York on 4/12. Can honestly say it was not only the best concert ever but the best days of my life. Giant rooks is so amazing I can’t wait to go to more of their concerts in the future

    every time i see them live im left amazed. amazing stage presence, amazing voices, so so fun. shows that they're having a great time and energy is reflected in the crowd. will always go back for more giant rooks
