Giant Rooks, founded in 2015 by two cousins and three friends in a rehearsal room in Hamm, is probably the most promising band Germany has had in a long time. Their accomplishments so far are impressive and multiple. Their monthly listeners on Spotify are in the millions, and they've brought venues from all over the world to maximum capacity, like House of Blues (San Diego), and stages in Rome to Paris to Manchester. In Germany, they play venues that other artists only play after 15 years of constant touring.
Between 2015 and 2019, the five-piece played more than 350 shows and established their reputation as an extraordinary live act. Last year they released their internationally acclaimed debut album "ROOKERY" and it entered the German charts at #3. The 12-song album, including the radio hits "Wild Stare" and "Watershed", is a powerful artistic statement that highlights the diverse and rich musical palette of the band. Their Kanye- esque hip hop beats, song structures drawn from the Bob Dylan archives, and soundscapes dripping with the seductive qualities of Bon Iver, all work together to create a modern and unique sound born out of their desire to not be pigeon-holed into one genre. They also released "Rookery Live Tapes" in June 2021, an EP full of beautifully stripped- down versions of songs from their debut album.
Giant Rooks put on a great performance! The set list included most of my faves. They were having fun on stage and the crowd as having a blast. 9:30 Club is a cool venue. I was on the balcony which was less crowded and appreciated the tiered standing area up there since I’m a shorty. Great view of the stage and room to dance! I had never heard the opener, Friedberg, before but they were great too and gained some new fans for sure!
We went to Boston on 4/11 and New York on 4/12. Can honestly say it was not only the best concert ever but the best days of my life. Giant rooks is so amazing I can’t wait to go to more of their concerts in the future

The show was great. Loved the intimate location. And the fact that the whole band stopped to acknowledge and say hello to the fans that were still waiting outside, they were amazing!

Probably the best concert I’ve ever been to, and that says a lot. I knew I was going to love their music going in because they’re one of my favourite bands, but I didn’t expect such a great show. The chemistry between the guys and the overall performance was outstanding. It was a pretty small theatre, but I’m sure next time they come to Montreal it’ll be bigger, so I’m happy I was able to see them in such a small venue. No doubt they’ll soon be selling out arenas.
Incredible… Giant Rooks was electric on stage, and the audience gave that energy back. An absolute blast of a show, i will be going again when they return to Canada

Such a great experience! I love them so much! Great atmosphere, fans are amazing no one was pushing everyone was so sweet. And of course THE GIANT ROOKS WERE AMAZING! Truly an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely love this band. Saw them during their second trip to Chicago in May of 2022, and again in December of that year! I unfortunately missed Lollapalooza. :((( Can’t wait to see them at Thalia Hall in Chicago in April 2024!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I saw them for the first time in nashville opening for louis tomlinson. I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE. For the short time they were on they out in an amazing show. See yall in atlanta💗
OK SO, I saw them live twice when I went to go see Louis Tomlinson. Oh my god their songs sound so good live, I had a blast. 🤞🏼 I get to see them again.
I first saw them in boston 2023. I fell in love with them the minute their music started playing! I have been obsessed with listening to their music ever since! All I need is for them to come back to boston! I love them with all my heart!!
Saw them for the first time in Maryland when they opened for Louis Tomlinson and immediately fell in love. Mid show I looked them up on Spotify and instantly followed these lads. I fell in love with Bright Lies and Somebody Like You after hearing them live, and quickly fell in love Morning Blue, Watershed and Bedroom Exile. 10/10 show, they were very interactive with the fans and have become my new favorites :)
