Fun Concert Schedule and Tour

fun.'s chart-topping indie pop anthem "We Are Young" was everywhere in 2012, earning the band overnight success and one of music's highest honors: Best New Artist at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The song took home the Grammy for Song of the Year, and, along with anthemic hits like "Carry On" and "Some Nights," propelled the band's 2012 sophomore album Some Nights to the No. 1 position on both the Rock and Alternative Albums charts. Lead singer Nate Ruess formed fun. in 2008 following the breakup of his band The Format, teaming up with Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost to write and record the band's demos. The trio's first single "At Least I'm Not as Sad As I Used to Be" came out in April 2009, quickly followed by the release of their debut album Aim and Ignite, which received praise for its progressive and theatrical pop sound. After opening for Paramore on their 2010 tour, fun. headlined their own U.K. concert tour before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. The result, 2012's Some Nights, peaked at No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200, garnering critical praise and spawning platinum-selling smash singles "We Are Young" and the album's title track. On tour in 2013 with Tegan and Sara, the band treated ticket buyers to energetic live concerts of both old and new material, building anticipation for the release of their third studio album in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Anyone on the fence about seeing these guys should jump off now. They are worth every penny and then some. Absolutely amazing to see that they can sound as good in person as they do in the studio. I will see them again as soon as they decide to return.”

“This was one of the best concerts I've been to, my teenage daughters and I really enjoyed it.”

“Fun was amazing !! Nate has a million dollar smile that lights up the theather and a voice that's a gift from god ! Great night! great band! Worth the ticket price!!”

by Sarahjo6121 on 10/11/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - Alpharetta

We ended up standing in general admission, so close to the stage! Great performers, great voice! Everyone was having a blast, even if they didn't know any of the songs!

Had a great time at the show. The band is really tight. I was thrilled to see that I wasn't the oldest one in attendance and everyone seemed to have a great time. The opening bands were good too. Really liked Hunter Hunted!

    Great Set, Great Energy

by Everythingloud on 10/9/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - Woodlands

Though near the end of an exhausting two-year excursion to promote their breakthrough album, "Some Nights", FUN. still came to play; lots of energy, good visuals, and a couple of carefully vetted, incredible up-and-coming opening acts.

Fun. puts on an awesome performance.

by CHUD03 on 10/9/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - Woodlands

I'm usually into more heavy rock bands like Deftones, Killswitch Engage etc. but I do listen to all types of music. My wife mentioned wanting to go to this show so I thought why not. I listened to their "Some Nights" album and thought it was pretty good. Anyway, their show did not dissapoint at all. Watching them, I can't help but think they must be influenced by Queen. It was not just a concert but more of a performance, if that makes sense. I would recommend one of their shows to anyone who is a fan of awesome musical experiences.

    FUN. was good

by Shaggysheep on 10/9/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - Woodlands

My biggest complaint, why do you have cuss so much when talking to the crows. They're minors attending your events and all the cussing was soooooooo unnecessary.

    Fun to see FUN!!!

    by Tonetta1971 on 10/8/13CFE Arena - Orlando

My daughter and I had an amazing time at the FUN concert at UCF, where she attends college. I was extremely impressed that they could actually sing and were very musically talented live (some bands are really bad live). Their effects display was entertaining and enjoyable. The audience participation was a lot of fun. Everything was fun...pun intended. We had a wonderful time. I love this band!

    fun. is freakin awesome

by meganluvsfun on 10/4/13CFE Arena - Orlando

Being my first concert it was awesome. I can't wait to come back next year! I took my 7 & 9 year old girls with me and since we had floor tickets they couldnt see. If we had been an hour earlier we would have been literally in front.which would have been better , but there is always next time.

    Third Fun. Concert...and Still Solid

by paw27 on 10/3/13Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

First off, Tegan and Sara were a great opening act/ stand-a-lone performance in itself. Fun. performed fantastically, and I do have to say that the amphitheater performance was a distinct show compared to the inside shows I've seen fun. perform. I would definitely say they that if you enjoy either Tegan and Sara or fun. at all, then you will not be disappointed in seeing them live.

    Loved this concert!

by WendyOes on 10/2/13Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

OK, I'm not a kid, a teenager or a "young adult". I'm an old fart who happens to love fun. So I haven't been to a whole lot of concerts lately and didn't really know what to expect. Well, I wasn't the only middle-aged woman there and probably not the oldest person there and I enjoyed every second of the evening! Tegan and Sara were great - what a wonderful warm-up act. Good music, great personalities, good connection with the audience. I'm a new fan of their music. And, once the main event began, it was non-stop "fun". They were energetic, the singing was fabulous, the song selection was wonderful, and the audience interaction was great. I'm so happy I took a chance and got tickets to this concert. I sang, screamed, danced and generally made a fool of myself acting like I was 30 years younger. Too bad, all you young'uns! I had a blast!

2nd time seeing Fun. in Raleigh and they were even better than the first time! Nate has so much energy and his vocals never falter. Guitar solo was impressive and these guys are so thankful to there fans. It's nice to see a great band be so humble. I believe they are amazed at there own success. Loved every minute.. gorgeous night added to the Fun. as well.

    Fun. was FANTASTIC!!

by FundamentallyAwesome on 10/1/13Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

Fun. gets 5 stars in my review, but their opening act gets 0 stars from me, thus the overall 4 star rating. Let me start with the opening act first...I had never heard any songs from Tegan and Sara before this concert. They are very talented but they should change their stage names to Tearful and Sorrow. ALL of their songs except the final one were sad. The lyrics were all about heartbreak and being rejected, and most of the songs were written in minor keys, really hammering home the point that you're supposed to be sad when you hear them, just in case the deluge of depressing lyrics didn't clue you in already. This went on for an hour. I felt like seeing a shrink or downing a bottle of anti-depressants afterwards. Their last song was at least about something different...trying to bed a guy - not a very imaginative topic, and the lyrics were terribly simple with painfully forced rhymes - but it was a refreshing break from the "woe-is-me, I'm-not-loved" setlist that preceded it. Fun. was an entirely different story. They had a wonderfully varied setlist and gave a fantastic performance. Nate Ruess displayed a tremendous amount of energy, working all angles of the stage and hitting every note perfectly. Several times throughout the performance, Nate got the audience to sing along. It was spectacular. I only own the Some Nights album, which I absolutely love. Every single song on it is just incredible. What Fun. did really well at the concert was introduce you to several other songs of theirs from either their prior album or their upcoming one. The band really seemed to enjoy themselves and were appreciative of their fans supporting them.
