Robert Plant, frontman of legendary psychedelic rockers Led Zeppelin, continues to build the band's legacy with his impressive career as a solo artist. In over 30 shows on his 2013 tour, he electrified crowds with the sheer power and extraordinary range of his voice, making every song, from classic Led Zeppelin tunes to traditional blues standards, seem like they were written just for him. With his band, The Sensational Space Shifters, Plant tears up the concert stage, at times singing like a scream and at other times sounding like a dream. A ticket to one of his concerts is like an invitation into his home -- intimate and extraordinary at the same time.
As the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time, Plant’s place in music history is already guaranteed. His band, Led Zeppelin, churned out No. 1 albums Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti, and the group has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As a solo artist, his album The Principle of Moments went platinum, while Now and Zen went triple platinum, selling over three million copies. Plant is a singer who is always at the top of his game. He is an innovator, a lover of music and someone who stands at the intersection where rock and roll, roots music and the blues come together. They meet right where he stands onstage, and as an incredible performer, he combines them into the uniquely musical experience he shares with audiences every day.
This is a don’t-miss concert... it was beyond my expectations!
Best concert I have ever attended! Robert Plant and his band were absolutely fantastic! They sounded so wonderful. The venue is beautiful, it was the concert of a lifetime!
The last minute Robert Plant show was absolutely incredible! The pageant was packed! The sound was great! Getting this show put together in only 2 days was an impossible feat, and it went off without a hitch - thank you to all responsible for bringing this living legend to St. Louis! Robert Plant and his band gave an outstanding performance....a truly once in a lifetime night!
Robert plant is and always will be the best rock&roll vocalist especially his early days with the greatest band on the planet LED ZEPPELIN !!!!!!
Definitely a five star concert, arrangements of songs were new and exciting, sound was beautiful, Robert Plant's voice was captivating and enchanting, just gotta live Robert Plant!
seen plant 7 times in the last 8 years and he never lets u down mixes up the songs from tour to tour great job
Robert still has it! Sound was distorted, could not understand him when he was talking. Wish he would have played more memorable songs but he was still awesome. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the sound system in the theater.
Robert Plant brought back memories of the wonderful music played during my high school days. My husband and I were with our friends from school and we just loved being there. His voice was still good. A dream come true to see one of my favorites.
This was my 4th time to see Robert Plant. I have seen him with the mighty Zeppelin, with Page & Plant and on his own back in the 80s. He never fails to disappoint.
Once again Robert Plants amazes! He continues to grow and expand! Sure he could do a complete Led Zeppelin set and everyone would flip out and be satisfied, but Robert does not live and die by Zeppelin Music alone! He has evolved through the years and stay relevant and fresh!
71 and still got it..................................
Loved his music and his new band. He is as vibrant as ever. The greatest! They had extremely piercing spot lights flashing off and on into the audiences eyes...so blinding we couldn't watch at all, to keep people from videoing the concert and the sound was so loud that we had to have our fingers in our ears the entire time. Also the people behind us were insane. There were lots of people beyond drunk screaming when Plant was trying to introduce the songs. He just gave up... If Robert Plant weren't so good...it would have been the worst live concert experience we have ever had...sorry New Orleans, love you, but you have to work on the Mahalia Jackson theatre.
Excellent set of songs! Great mix of of Zepplin, Solo and new music. His voice was spot on and he seemed to be having a geniunely good time on stage! Thanks Plant!
The Mahalia Jackson Theatre is an excellent venue. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The opening band, Lil' Band O' Gold was a very pleasant surprise (as for some reason I didn't know Robert Plant had an opening act on this tour). They are from Louisiana. I enjoyed them so much I bought their CD the other day. I cannot say enough about Robert Plant and his band...amazing. I'll leave it at that. My only complaint would be regarding many of those in attendance. Technology (phones, tablets) is ruining the experience. I can understand taking a few photos or a few short videos..but the WHOLE CONCERT?!?! Robert Plant actually commented on one person in the front who had their iPad on their face the whole time. Then, people kept getting up and down (getting drinks and snacks and what not) for whatever reason. Mr. Plant then jokingly suggested that they might have cystitis. Finally, though many people probably did not know of the opening band they are a Louisisna band and were very happy to be home and opening for the legendary Robert Plant. Folks possibly have been a little more supportive, attentive, and welcoming. Mr.Plant had commented on how influential blues from Louisiana and Mississipi have been on him and how the blues is being exported back to us from England. We are taking our culture for granted. Aside from that...one of the best concerts ever!
My first concert - Led Zeppelin 1975 Madison Square Garden - I have seen Robert Plant many times since then. Robert is getting old, but he can still move and sing almost as well as he used to --and make me feel like a 15 year old at my first concert. The set list was mostly Zeppelin songs, which made this old fan (any my husband) very happy. I hope this will not be the last time I enjoy seeing Robert Plant in person.
robert plant still has a good voice but i preferred his " old style " of music compared to his " new and improved" stuff
It was a great show! Robert Plant a great rock legend.. The venue had awesome sound no matter where you were sitting.
I HAVE SEEN JUST ABOUT EVERY PLANT SOLO CONCERT IN NEW ORLEANS AND THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST ONE YET.IT WAS A GREAT MIX OF ZEP AND HIS SOLO WORK.IT WAS VERY GOOD THE WAY THEY CHANGED THE THE SONGS UP FROM THIER ORIGINAL VERSIONS AN ABSOLUTLY MUST SEE SHOW. FOR SOME REASON I WAS NOT TO FIRED UP TO GO TO THE SHOW BUT THAT CHANGED 10 SECONDS AFTER THEY STARTED PLAYING(IT WAS A WED.NITE AND I WORKED 9 HOURS IN 100 DEGREE HEAT I WAS WHIPPED)
Incredible he was awesome would love to see him agaim
Was very pleased he did some old Led Zeppelin music but some it was way out there.
