About

The ‘90s are often described as the Golden Era of hip hop with the decade introducing an array of acts, many of whom have stood the test of time and influenced generations of artists to follow. One such act is the Grammy Award winning hip hop trio, Naughty By Nature, born from the streets of East Orange, New Jersey, or better yet, the streets of ‘’Ill-Town’’.

The trio of Treach (Anthony Criss), Vin Rock (Vincent Brown) and the man responsible for their sound, super producer DJ Kay Gee (Keir Gist) have been a mainstay on world stages for 25 years since hitting the charts with their self titled debut album in 1991, which featured the classic ‘’O.P.P’’. Their follow up, 1993’s, ‘’Nineteen Naughty Three’’ featured the eternal hip hop anthem, ‘’Hip Hop Hooray’’ ensuring that the group would forever be embedded in popular culture. Their hit laden 1995 release, ‘’Poverty’s Paradise’’ featured set favourites, ‘’Craziest’’, ‘”Feel Me Flow’’ and ‘’Clap Yo Hands’’ but it was not until the release of 1999’s ‘’Nineteen Naughty Nine – Natures Fury’’ that the rest of the world caught up with what hip hop fans knew for so long with the album boasting two monster commercial hits in ‘’Holiday’’ and ‘’Jamboree’’. Since then, the group has released two further albums, the 2002 aptly titled ‘’Iicons’’ and 2011’s ‘’Anthem Inc”’ celebrating the groups 20th anniversary.

Hits and anthems aside, the group’s credibility as a hip hop powerhouse comes from their live shows. With constant touring, Naughty By Nature have established a reputation as one of the premier live hip hop groups of all time.

Australia’s love affair with Naughty by Nature commenced in 1995 when the group toured as part of the ‘’Cool Naughty Pain’’ tour with fellow hip hop artists, House of Pain and Coolio. Since that time, the guys have been regular visitors down under having performed shows across every major city and a number of regional towns. From clubs to arenas and festivals, the intensity and energy of a Naughty By Nature show is undeniable. Abstract Entertainment, Arena Touring and Delta Bravo are excited to announce that Treach, Vin Rock and Kay Gee are headed back down under to celebrate 20 years of touring Australia and to kick off their 25th anniversary celebrations. Fans are in for a treat with the shows promising to be nothing short of jam packed, hit laden, ‘’hands in the air’’ hip hop parties, with a few surprises.

    Naughty By Nature was forgettable!!!

    by halina617 on 2/28/16Howard Theatre - Washington

The brothers looked great! It appears they haven't aged at all. There were a few sound challenges, Treach quickly resolved. The set list was poor. I'm ok with going dowm memory lane..but after every song it sounds like random rambling! The medley's they chose weren't fluid, very choppy.

    Great Show

by DJCee1982 on 2/23/16House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Great show with great energy even though the dudes are in their mid 40's. They rocked the house. The opening act was weak and thank god there was only 1.

    Old School

by candygirl1979 on 1/18/15Cache Creek Casino resort - Brooks

We saw Naughty by Nature last night and we had a blast!! It was a small venue but they put on a show like they were performing for 100,000 people. Even though they are from New Jersey they played and performed many songs by California artists and showed respect for the West coast. They let everyone come on stage with them and were nice enough to meet everyone afterwards. It was nice to see all 3 member on stage together and they still look and sound the same as they did 25 years ago. I would definitely see them again!

Some forgettable moments but overall it was Fresh!

by Sabrosaindia on 9/26/13Pennysaver Amphitheater - Farmingville

Who in the world was the first act, OMG.....my ears bled! Some of the acts we could have done without. Between the lame dancers in the fist act, and the screeching cries of some of the artist, many were left with a trip to the wine/beer cart as the only option for Joy. However, the headliners, of course did not disappoint! LOVE George L. (Man, you still got it papa), TKA, Cover Girls and Naughty by Nature......What, what!! Overall, my childhood girlfriends and I had a great blast back to our youth! Some songs more nostalgic than others, experience in the end was great....cant beat the cost and the memories the music conjures up. The Ampitheatre definitly needs to invest in larger screens for "lawn" viewers.

TKA totally kicked butt.Did not miss beat

by fallensaint on 9/25/13Pennysaver Amphitheater - Farmingville

Overall it was a great concert. But one thing I would of done was have Tiffany perform in the beginning. She followed after TKA.That sort of killed the energy. I think the roof would of blew off the top.If you would have fasination, then the Cover girls, then TKA and then Naughty by Nature. This is the order I would of have.Bald hill would of been a dance club only outdoors. I think you should place the performers with one or two hit wonders in the beginning and then groups like fasination,Cover girls,TKA, and Naughty by Nature towards the end.You want the energy of the crowd to keep growing and expanding

    Amazing concert!!

    by Luv4evaTKA on 9/24/13Pennysaver Amphitheater - Farmingville

We had the greatest time at the freestyle concert on Saturday. My friends n I have been freestyle music fans from the beginning. From start to finish every performer was amazing! When we hear songs like "One way love", "Tears may fall", "Bad of the heart", etc. it feels like we're hearing them for the 1st time n they bring us back to some of the greatest times of our lives. The pennysaver amphitheater is such an amazing venue. The atmosphere feels like a big backyard BBQ! Everywhere u looked people were dancing, singing n having a great time! The performers were so friendly n took the time after their sets to take pics n talk with everyone. We're going to another freestyle concert in jersey n I can't wait to see everyone perform again. Def hope the pennysaver amphitheater hosts many more freestyle concerts! Cannot express enough how amazing of a time we had! Freestyle 4eva!!!! Xoxoxo
