The ‘90s are often described as the Golden Era of hip hop with the decade introducing an array of acts, many of whom have stood the test of time and influenced generations of artists to follow. One such act is the Grammy Award winning hip hop trio, Naughty By Nature, born from the streets of East Orange, New Jersey, or better yet, the streets of ‘’Ill-Town’’.
The trio of Treach (Anthony Criss), Vin Rock (Vincent Brown) and the man responsible for their sound, super producer DJ Kay Gee (Keir Gist) have been a mainstay on world stages for 25 years since hitting the charts with their self titled debut album in 1991, which featured the classic ‘’O.P.P’’. Their follow up, 1993’s, ‘’Nineteen Naughty Three’’ featured the eternal hip hop anthem, ‘’Hip Hop Hooray’’ ensuring that the group would forever be embedded in popular culture. Their hit laden 1995 release, ‘’Poverty’s Paradise’’ featured set favourites, ‘’Craziest’’, ‘”Feel Me Flow’’ and ‘’Clap Yo Hands’’ but it was not until the release of 1999’s ‘’Nineteen Naughty Nine – Natures Fury’’ that the rest of the world caught up with what hip hop fans knew for so long with the album boasting two monster commercial hits in ‘’Holiday’’ and ‘’Jamboree’’. Since then, the group has released two further albums, the 2002 aptly titled ‘’Iicons’’ and 2011’s ‘’Anthem Inc”’ celebrating the groups 20th anniversary.
Hits and anthems aside, the group’s credibility as a hip hop powerhouse comes from their live shows. With constant touring, Naughty By Nature have established a reputation as one of the premier live hip hop groups of all time.
Australia’s love affair with Naughty by Nature commenced in 1995 when the group toured as part of the ‘’Cool Naughty Pain’’ tour with fellow hip hop artists, House of Pain and Coolio. Since that time, the guys have been regular visitors down under having performed shows across every major city and a number of regional towns. From clubs to arenas and festivals, the intensity and energy of a Naughty By Nature show is undeniable. Abstract Entertainment, Arena Touring and Delta Bravo are excited to announce that Treach, Vin Rock and Kay Gee are headed back down under to celebrate 20 years of touring Australia and to kick off their 25th anniversary celebrations. Fans are in for a treat with the shows promising to be nothing short of jam packed, hit laden, ‘’hands in the air’’ hip hop parties, with a few surprises.

Me and my wife loved the show...we had a blast the performer's were great haven't heard real hip hop like that in a long time...need more from real hip hop old school artist.
The Concer5 was awesome and the interaction with the crowd was truly amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. However We did not like the guy from Florida opening act. He was entirely too long and wasn't good enough to be included with the legends
While Naughty By Nature performed on a Monday night, I figured the number of people there would be decent--they were in the of Seattle's best venues, and who wouldn't want to see Naughty By Nature??? A lot of people, as the case turned out. I guess that's what happens in a city full of yupsters. I'm sorry they're all too cool for school, because these guys SHOWED UP. They've been at it for 20 years, and they genuinely seem to enjoy performing. And best of all: they are TALENTED! Fantastic rappers, and it's so fun to watch them play off each other! Their DJ was also awesome. Just a really entertaining night with a fun old-school band. I'd see them again in a second.
Concert was great. Performers where great. Only problem I had was how long it took to start the show. Really enjoyed the show.
The concert was fantastic! Each act did their thang! I got there about 1 hour late, and came in on Kid Capri finishing his set. Chubb Rock was next and he took us back down memory lane. Everyone's energy was great and the audience had a ball!
big daddy was incredible you felt the energy really took you back to the 80's
The Legends of Hip Hop show was amazing. If I had to select the best performance is was Big Daddy Kane. However, all of the entertainers shows were enjoyable. It was truly a wonderful trip down memory lane. Loved Mc Lyte, Chubb Rock, Kid Capri, and Naughty by Nature. Recommendations for the House of Blues: When a show is supposed to start at 7:30 pm, the doors should open before and the show should not start 1 hour later. Also the intermission in between each act was too long. With the show starting later than expected and the long intermissions, people were exhaused by the time Naughty By Nature came onstage.
I enjoyed every performance. I lost my voice from rapping along with the artist.
I was plesently surprised at how well all of the acts performed! The new school artist could learn something!!
I enjoyed the show overall. I hate to say but as much as Chubb Rock was the man back in the days, his set was the worse and really bored me and the 10 friends I was with. Maybe a switch to Heavy D, Public Enemy, Grand Puba, Lords of the Underground, or the Great Rakim would have definitely earned a 5 star rating. 5 stars to Kid Capri.. he tore it up 4stars to Kane and Naughty 2 stars to Lyte 1star to Chubb
even though i was feelin a bit under the weather, overall i enjoyed myself.
Simply incredible.A rare chance to see some of my best mc's do there thing and It was a night I'll never forget.Great performances by all. Can't wait till Legends of Hip Hop 3!
nice performance; nice room! wish mc lyte played longer!!!!
The performances were great. Just seeing some artist and hereing the songs brought me back. The crowd was mature, no fighting, and peaceful.
The concert was the best that I have been too in a long time. All of the acts were great and Kid Capri is the bes DJ that brings the best music to get me dancing all night....Thank you for the memories......
the show was good. I thought Kane killed it. MC Lyte was dope too.
I rate the entire event a 3 but I would give the artists a 5. All of the artists put on a great performance. It would have been a much better experience had it started on time (show started an hour late) and if there wasn't so much of a lapse in between performances (about 15-20). I'd definitely go again but next time I'm wearing sneaks. EVERY artist put their thing down and when they were on stage I forgot about how bad my feet were killing me. Oh, I learned that Kid Capri is half black and half Sicilian. He requested for folks to stop coming up to him speaking Spanish! LOL. It was such a nice throw back event. Oh, smoking was allowed in the concert. That wasn't cool.
Kid Capri was awesom!! Chubb Rock on point. Big Daddy Kane was the highlight of the night. Will definately see a show like this again.
The show was excellent. There's nothing like old school hip hop.
