good music, dancing- good story line. Some of the singers were quite talented, but you can tell it was an onroad , less polished cast.
Loved it through and through! Highly energetic with talented dancers and vocalist.
I saw 'In The Heights' on opening night, and WOW. I've been waiting to see this show for years, and although I have praised the show before I saw it by constantly listening to the soundtrack I was extremely blown away seeing the whole story come to life on stage before my eyes. Alabanza!
Wow... where to start? INCREDIBLE music, dancing, and a great story. We had smiles plastered on our faces throughout the entire show... it's so upbeat and happy. I've seen many shows and this one is definitely in my top three now. GO SEE IT!
For a musical that really amounts to nothing more than a peek inside the relationships of some people who live on a block, it was fast-paced and high-energy. You very quickly felt you knew the characters. Great script, and the musical and dialog were so well integrated, it didn't feel like the typical "stop the story for a song and dance" musical. What a contemporary musical should be.
In the Heights was a very enjoyable show. The cast was great! The venue was beautiful!! There was some language and sexual situations that would be inappropriate for children.
I took my 17 year old daughter to see this with me. LOVED it. I expected something good, entertaining....I didn't quite know that I would get a better show! It was great- lively, super talented cast, and LOVED Usnavi. I'd go see it again.
Finally decent musical comes to Huntsville ! Great music and perfect seats! Can we please have more of this calibre of shows?
We loved every moment of it, could watch it a hundred more times. So rich and evocative. I would love to take everyone I know.
Show was outstanding! Cast was very talented! Amazing singing, dancing and acting. I got sucked into the story
Had a good time. The show is fast paced. Great set and lighting. My biggest complaint is that I couldn't understand what the actors were singing (not counting the Spanish) about 90% of the time, though I could follow the story.
I loved the experience of the corner bodega in the Heights. The story is beautiful and the music was exciting. Jubilation for latinas!
I bought the tickets as a gift for my son who is interested in the technical side of theater. I saw him after the show and he was very happy. He was very excited by the music and the dancing and said that a particular moment brought a tear to his eye. And he LOVED the lights. Congratulations to the company.
Exceptional! The cast was superb and the energy was amazing!
Fast moving, lots of energy! Loved the stage scenery and liked that the entire play revolved around the same set. Thought the cast was excellent even though Nina had a 'small' voice' , it fit the part,,, she couldn't have a particularly LARGE voice and protray the insecure character she played
Our family (age15-82) attended In the Heights. We all thought the set was exceptional and the characters unforgettable. The music is non-stop and the actors were very talented. It is a story of a primarily hispanic community who is making their way in America (Washington Heights). It is about sacrifice, love and hope. If you know any Spanish it is helpful, as phrases and lyrics are in both English and Spanish, but bi-lingual Spanish speaking patrons had an advantage.
Seeing this play was on my "Bucket List." It has fulfilled my expectations and more!! Let me explain. My children and I went to the Saturday show. Sunday we were able to meet some of the cast at a restaurant here in Lexington. They are so down to earth and captivating. After this wonderful experience, my boys and I went directly to the Opera House and bought tickets to their last show (of which we did not expect to do). The second time seeing it was just as much a wonderful experience as the first. Actually, it was my 16 year old’s third time seeing it. He was just as excited to see it the third time as the first! There is something for everyone to relate to. The singing and acting is phenomenal. It is so captivating a few times I had to remind myself to breathe!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience!!! As a matter of fact, we came home and named our new kitten Usnavi!! (The main character). For the next 20 years (hopefully), we will have a daily reminder of this experience! Thank you to all involved for wonderfully fulfilling a family dream!!!!
Upbeat, modern story, of love, family, struggles all done in a great entertaining way
This was a really great show. Coming from New York and being new to Lexington, we did not know what to expect. The show was GREAT !! Great set design, great acting/singing/dancing. Exellent performance.
