Windy City rapper Twista has wowed audiences for over 20 years with his rapid-fire delivery and complex lyrics. In fact, Twista once held the record for the fastest rapper in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records; impressively, he was able to pronounce nearly 600 syllables in 55 seconds. Live, Twista is a must-see, as the Chopper-influenced rapper spits lyrics at concerts with the same speed and fire audible on records. Tickets to his Back to the Basics tour could be difficult to land following the release of "The Dark Horse," his first studio album in four years. Twista also appears on Lady Gaga's highly anticipated third studio album "ARTPOP." "The Dark Horse" delivers the lead single, "Throwin' My Money," featuring R. Kelly.
Twista was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He started rapping as a teenager and was formerly known as Tung Twista. In 1996, Twista collaborated with The Legendary Traxster to release "Po Pimp," which landed him a record deal with Atlantic. His debut album, "Adrenaline Rush," was released in 1997 and landed on the Billboard Hot 200. It wasn't until 2004, however, that Twista's career flourished with the record" Kamikaze," which featured Kanye West and Ludacris and delivered the number one hit "Slow Jamz". "Kamaikaze" also featured "Overnight Celebrity" and "So Sexy," launching Twista into international stardom. The rapper has since released five studio albums and collaborated with the Speedknot Mobstaz. Twista is taking it back to the basics in 2014 and expanding on his already impressive resume, including a notable spot on Lady Gaga's new record. He is one of the fastest rappers in the business, but you cannot truly appreciate his style until you see him in concert.
Main act (Twista) didn’t come on until 11:45pm after 5 other acts performed before him. We almost left before he came on, having been there for 4 hours already.
All the artist was great and very much a crowd pleaser....Twista was awesome and performed alot of songs
The event in itself was so not what I expected. The show was advertised as starting at 6pm, indeed it started at 6pm, but it was a showcase for inspiring rappers, and it lasted til about 1130pm, so by time Twista arrived I was so ready to go. Twister made his apperance at midnight. I was disappointed with that. However Twista gave a nice performance.

Not many people attended, but because of this we all got v.i.p. and free beer. The music was real good, and i met some very down guys!
Twista killed it of course. You would think Ron Ron was the headliner as long as they stayed on stage.
I didn't even stay to see Twista perform b/c I was tired of being there for 3 1/2 hours watching and listening to all 30 of the opening acts. It was a waste of money.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS I'VE BEEN TOO. I PAID $20 TO SEE HIM AND WITH THAT I GOT FRONT ROW, RIGHT BY THE STAGE. WAS ALBE TO SHAKE HANDS WITH HIM AND I WAS ABLE TO REALLY ENJOY MYSELF. I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO GO BACK TO THAT DAY. THE BAR WAS COOL TOO AND THE DRINKS WERE AT REASONABLE PRICE. HAD A REALLY GOOD TIME.
Twista was great although the acts performing before him were terrible. There are better artists here in the town that I live in that would have been much more enjoyable. Also the venue wasn't the greatest either it wasn't that busy, but took way too long to get a drink the place.
