THIRD DAY IN CONCERT:
With over ten albums of convicted, uplifting Christian rock under their belts, Dove Award-winners Third Day are one of the genre's most beloved acts. Known for frontman Mac Powell’s distinctive voice, the band consistently inspires fans with their spirit-filled live concerts. With the announcement that they would be joining the 2014 Rock and Worship Roadshow tour, fans are chomping at the bit to see them live along fellow Christian rock legends Skillet and a host of special guests.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
“They are consistently great, sound incredible live, keep the set lists fresh, and connect with the audience.”
“Every band member is so talented, but it's their lead singer, Mac, who makes the band the huge Christian rock hit that it is. His voice has matured to the point that his singing seems effortless and his tone really sets his voice apart among other Christian rock singers—or rock singers—for that matter.”
“Nothing like going to a concert and ending up at a worship service. These men do great work for the Lord.”
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Founded in Georgia in the early '90s by frontman Mac Powell, Christian rockers Third Day have sold over 10 million albums in the United States alone, making them one of the most successful contemporary Christian rock acts in the business. In addition to chart-topping spiritual songs like “Cry Out to Jesus,” “Call My Name,” and "Nothing At All," the band has received four Grammy Awards and 20 Dove Awards.
Did not disappoint. Truly a Killer Show!! Sorry this is the only time I'll ever get to see them.
First of all, I love Third Day, and when they finally started performing it was awesome. The downside was having to sit through what felt like a time share presentation with every act peddling their new book, album, group and then the total of an hour trying to get people to sign up for feed the children. Even Mac Powel started pushing for people to support the feed the children cause, during the show. I know this is a Christian show, and we are expected to give and serve, but we paid to watch the performance. The opening act started at 7:30 and we left just before 11, and the show was still going. It would have been great if all of the time spent there was the bands playing, but it was agonizing. If I was interested in buying stuff from the band, I would go into the lobby and make purchases, like I do at every other show I have gone to. This was just sad having to be constantly reminded to buy something the entire night. At least I got to see Third Day perform one more time.
I absolutely love Third Day and was stoked to hear they added a show to KC. Problem is, it's a 3.5 hour drive to Wichita, and they didn't get on the stage till after 9. We had to leave at 11:00 because we still had to work the next day. I'm sure I missed a lot of the show and was bummed to leave when we did. However, what we did see was incredible.
I love the music of Third day, however, it was almost two hours after showtime before they finally took the stage as "Third Day." The opener did three songs - very engaging; Mark Lee took the stage and did music from his new EP, but mainly plugged his book "Hurt Road." Mac Powell introduced/plugged his new band "Family Reunion," doing a few numbers. Then there was the most extended and unwelcome plug for the charity/ministry that is typically highlighted at Christian concerts. The speaker droned-on for over 25 minutes and then the volunteers were dispatched throughout the auditorium to get commitments while the brow-beating continued. In my opinion, if this organization had sponsored the concert making it a free event, then enduring this plug would have been understandable. But, the tickets were purchased to see and hear Third Day. It was worse than sitting through a spiel for a time-share. The venue was too cramped; the seats very uncomfortable. All that aside, Third Day delivered once they finally took the stage.
Love, love, loved it! You can't go wrong seeing shows at this venue! The sound and view of the stage is fabulous!! It was very entertaining, and with the added bonus of Matt Maher it made it even better! Highly recommended!!
This concert was everything I had hoped it would be. Really enjoyed this cool venue.
I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I will definitely go the that venue again. Will have to wait for a reunion tour for Third Day.
This was a fantastic concert! They played a double set, at least 1 or 2 songs from every album! Excellent guitar playing, Mac’s great voice, and spirit filled! Matt Maher was as usual-wonderful!!
I love Third Day, but this was one of the oddest concerts I’ve ever been to. I knew there was an opening act, whom I loved, but he only played a few songs. I thought that Third Day would come out after that, but then one of the band members came into the stage. He performed more than a few songs and told a lengthy story and self-promoted his book. I thought that Third Day would come out then. Another band member then came out and performed more than a few songs and self-promoted his new album. I thought Third Day would come out then. A guy then came out and talked at length about sponsoring kids in Ethiopia and called the audience to volunteer. Groups of people walked around handing out brochures to those who wanted one. I thought Third Day would come out then, but it was announced there would be a 20 minute intermission before the show started. Almost two hours after starting time of the concert, Third Day performed. They were awesome, but this was totally not at all what I thought it would be.
Third Day is always amazing! The farewell concert was awesome! ❤️❤️❤️
Third Day was great! Mack Powell has a way of drawing in the whole audience regardless of age and his voice is so good. The band was super talented and very entertaining. Matt Maher opening was amazing too!
While sad that Third Day is hanging it up as a band, they knew how to celebrate their portfolio of hits throughout 25 awesome years. We'll never forget their fervor for the Lord, nor their brand of southern-rock made for the Christian-worship experience. And having never seen Matt Maher before, his opening, while short but sweet, was also memorable for we Christian contemporary fans! One of the best concerts we've had the pleasure of seeing, and we've seen a lot of them. Definitely a must-see, particularly with their retiring the brand.
It was a great venue and a great evening. The concert was absolutely amazing for my family
A night of memories as Third Day performed songs from each of its albums and hints of the future as Mark Lee and Mac Powell each performed with their new groups. A powerful evening with Matt Maher joining also. I will miss Third Day immensely as they introduced me to Christian music many years ago. Bring on the reunion tour
Third day farewell tour was better than I could have ever imagined!! Great sound and light show. Mac Powell is phenomenal!!!!
Loved the concert, it was outstanding! Venue had great volunteers. Here was the only downside....my ticket did not match the floor seating and there were many of us confused of where to be. My ticket also did not say super VIP. I missed the meet and greet. It was a birthday gift to my best friend who is a HUGE fan. I wish the person doing the meet and greet would have addressed the entire crowd, and the person checking my ticket would have known that as well. We had no idea. I'll take just as much responsibility, but missed an opportunity.
In spite of less than stellar venue electronics, Third Day performed as true Soldiers of the Cross enunciating the work and person of Jesus Christ while bringing first rate skills to every note throughout. This is as good a tour as one will ever hear, anywhere. Thank-you Third Day for your Giant faithfulness and top drawer stewardship !!
Amazing concert!! Third Day put on an awesome show!! Sad it is their farewell tour, will miss seeing them!
It was a great concert. we bought the sound check experience, and that was great as well.
GREAT show!!! Third Day is amazing and will be missed. The band was fantastic, the venue perfect (intimate with good acoustics), and the crowd was on fire. Awesome night!
