BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Tank passed up an opportunity to play college football in order to pursue music. After landing a gig as a backup singer for R&B superstar Ginuwine, Tank made his solo debut in 2001 with Force of Nature, topping the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart — an impressive feat for a debut album by a newcomer. Following the 2007 release of Sex, Love & Pain — another No. 1 — Tank formed R&B supergroup TGT with Tyrese and Ginuwine. Due to contract issues, the trio wouldn't release an album until six years later, but it was worth the wait — 2013's Three Kings peaked at No. 1, spawning several hit singles and a US tour.
