About

Sting is a 17-time Grammy-winning artist and a founding member of the pioneering new wave band The Police. Born in Wallsend, England, Gordon Sumner, a.k.a. Sting, became one of the best-selling artists of all-time as the bassist and frontman of The Police. The band released five studio albums and six Top 10 singles, including the Sting-penned No. 1 hit “Every Breath You Take,” before disbanding in 1986. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, and their 2008 reunion tour was the third highest-grossing tour of the ’00s. Since releasing his 1985 solo debut The Dream of the Blue Turtles, Sting has been recognized with a British CBE and an Emmy, featured at the Kennedy Center Honors and inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has also received four Oscar nominations, and his 2014 Broadway musical The Last Ship, which was inspired by his childhood and featured music and lyrics by Sting, was nominated for two Tony Awards. A constant experimenter of genres including jazz, pop, classical and world music, Sting won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2019 with Shaggy for their 2018 collaborative album 44/876.

    Extraordinary intimate concert

by PPJose on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

The venue was perfect for Sting to get closer to us. He connected from the first song. Classics from The Police, his solo albums and also two-three new songs. Clear night also brought reflexión with "Fragility"

    Excellent show

by JD on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

If you are a Sting fan and have followed him through the years... from Police through his solo career, you will love this tour. It was his greatest hits so be prepared to sing along. He did some new material too but mainly all the songs you would want him to sing. GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

Great, except for confusion around “VIP”

by Mark on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Great experience except for the confusion surrounding the term “VIP”. We had something called the Premium VIP Lounge Package. There’s VIP Parking but it didn’t apply to us. There’s a VIP Lounge but it didn’t apply to us either. There’s supposedly a VIP entrance but we never found it…

Show was great. Seating was horrible!

by Tman on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

We bought front row, dead center reserved lawn tickets in a secure area that came with chairs. I have never purchased in this area before, so we were very excited. We did not realize how bad these seats were until they started putting a single row of handicap chairs directly in front of the rail in front of us that 100% blocked our view. I have no problem letting the handicap people sit there, my problem is the area should be lowered so the people paying good money for a reserved seat could see. What were they thinking!! I would have rated the event with 5 stars if they understood views.

I have been a Sting fan for many years. I have seen every show on every tour of his solo career and some with the Police. This show was amazing! His voice was in great form, the band and back up singers were excellent and the play list was classic! I brought my daughter to the show and it was an unforgettable experience for us!

by Swilk77 on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Concert was great, sound perfect, great big screens. Only wish the floor seats were a bit elevated so us shorties could see better over the tall people.

by PrickleyPear13 on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

As usual, Sting was amazing singing all of our old favorites and a few new ones. I really enjoyed seeing his son perform. The best part is when they sang together at the end. Crowd was really into singing with Sting. He is always a crowd-pleaser. You feel like you het yo knoe him on a personal lrbel at his concerts with him sharing stories and what the song lyrics mean.

    Top notch, as always

by Wendy on 10/18/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

This is our second time to see Sting on this tour, and he was in top form. His music is timeless, his voice is better than ever, he’s personable and chats a bit, and his backup singers are phenomenal! It was a great venue, too. It was also cool to see and hear his son.

by Amit on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Sting never ceases to amaze. Even at that age, it was one hell of a show. Kudos to the Sumners as Joe did a brilliant opening gig before his dad👏

    Amazing Sting!

by Yvettel on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Sting’s performance was amazing. He sounded great and no lip syncing! His guitar and t-shirt looked very worn. I appreciate his humility there. I would have loved to hear stories. His backup singers and musicians were very talented and great too!

Sting is at his peak right now

by Born a Beatle on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

I saw Sting a few decades ago at The Woodlands. Big, sophisticated, jazz style band. All music, no talking. No Police tunes. Great stuff. Fond memories. But the Sting I just saw at Toyota Music Factory, with a smaller, younger band, had a completely different attitude. It had a rougher edge by including Police tunes. He talked a lot, shared stories with humor. His voice was still fantastic. Hell, he still looks good in a tight T-shirt. A few songs got extended into amazing creations added to the ending, especially the encore, that I will keep secret. This Sting was better than the Sting I saw 20 something years ago. He's at the prime of his career as far as I'm concerned. He rocked the house this time. I mean, rocked it!
