    Shemekia Copeland in Portsmouth, NH

by Becky on 2/7/23Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

My husband and I had a fantastic time in Portsmouth on one of the coldest nights in New England ever! Shemekia is such a great lady and we loved her music and voice. She shared a few stories, some touching and heartfelt and some funny stories. We just loved her and wish nothing but the very best in life for her. She deserves total recognition. Shemekia is amazing!

Amazing, powerful voice of a future blue legend

by Shemekia fan on 2/9/22Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

The venue is a beautifully restored building with superb acoustics. Shemekia has a voice like no other. She sang a variety of her new and older songs. An artist you don't want to miss hearing in person. I love the smaller venues, but she can get people up and dancing at any outdoor festival. Shemekia's a must see.

Ms. Copeland delivers a performance of humor, spontaneity, and warmth. Her voice rivals many of the greats but is uniquely, indelibly her own. She interprets jazz, blues, rock, and country with an originality rarely seen. Her band is intricately synced with her powerful range and complements her performance throughout. It was an incredible experience to witness her brilliance!
