    Outstanding Show!

by Dragonbeebird on 2/6/22Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Ms. Copeland delivers a performance of humor, spontaneity, and warmth. Her voice rivals many of the greats but is uniquely, indelibly her own. She interprets jazz, blues, rock, and country with an originality rarely seen. Her band is intricately synced with her powerful range and complements her performance throughout. It was an incredible experience to witness her brilliance!

by SGB on 2/6/22Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Shemekia Copeland is an immensely talented, charismatic, powerhouse of a performer. Her band is also amazing. We loved her show and will make a point of trying to see her every time she comes to New England, especially if she is at Jimmy’s Jazz Club in Portsmouth. The atmosphere and acoustics were just right.

Was a great show Shemekia belted her pipes and the band was on point! Fun time and will go see her again! The common heart band opened the show and they were a great setup for Shemekia!

    A personal evening with Shemekia

    by Anonymous on 2/24/15F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

This was an amazing evening. A small, intimate setting in the lobby of a theater with Shemekia's family seated at the table next to ours made for an up close and personal experience, not to mention the incredible talent and voice of Shemekia Copeland. As usual, she was wonderful and her band performed flawlessly. Even the opening act, The Sterling Koch Band was a real treat with incredible local talent. AMAZING!

    Full of Heart and Soul!

by dolfindi on 12/11/13Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Seeing Shamekia Copeland for the first time in a small venue (Ponte Vedra Concert Hall) was a highlight experience. This girl can really sing. She puts her heart out there for you. We were all in awe as she sang acapella walking among the audience. Can't wait to get her new CD...331/3. Would I pay to see her again? You bet I would !!

Shemekia live is as good as it gets!

by friendgirl on 12/11/13Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

I've seen Shemekia on multiple Blues Cruises and live a number of times, most noteably at the Chicago Blues Festival and she never ceases to amaze! This venue was only a bit over 1/2 full yet she sang for about 1 3/4 hours non-stop, engaged the audience and everyone had a great time. The true test for me is when a 15 year old daughter of a friend, who was with us at the concert, was begging her mom to run home and get online to get some of Shemekia's music after the show. If you've never seen the newly crowned "Queen of the Blues" live, run...don't walk...the next time she performs in your area. She won't disappoint.

by DebbieDoobie on 3/9/11Tralf - Buffalo

Shemekia put on 1heck of a show! Not only does she excel in the blues :but she does some rock-n-rolling too! She seems like such a down to earth person who has the crowd howling from the moment she asks "how y'all doin' tonight?" She's cute, funny, really personable. Her voice is so strong;yet at times soft; smooth and velvety.

This woman is blessed with a remarkable voice which simply filled the room anytime she wanted to. She had a terrific banter going with the audience all the way through. At one point she heard someone phone go off and noticed that the ringtone was country music. She mentioned how she love Hank Williams Sr growing up and then let the audience talk into singing a bit of I'm so lonesome I could cry. The one verse she did was wonderfully ragged but it was one of those wonderful moments that you take home with you and talk about later. The band was spot on all night and gave her the platform she needed to shout her magic to the world.

Shemekia connected to her audience with a down-to-earth personality that shows that she relates to her listeners. Although I am not a blues fan, her voice, style and selection of songs added a fresh approach to the blues which I could appreciate. I would like to see her explore the range of her vocal talent with more challenging songs and beats.

    Shemekia Copeland

by Catwoman16201 on 10/3/09Diesel Club Lounge - Pittsburgh

Shemekia Copeland put on an amazing show in Pittsburgh. Her voice is beautiful and actually sounds better than on her CD, if that is possible. Her backup band was tight and very good. The crowd was small, but she put on a show as if there were hundreds or thousands in the audience. If she comes to your area, you should run, don't walk, to see her.

    Shemekia is a Class Act!

by LoveBluesinPittsburgh on 10/3/09Diesel Club Lounge - Pittsburgh

Even though it was the wrong venue (it's a club for kids in their 20's who have no idea who she is) and not many people were there, Shemekia was a complete professional and gave us a tremendous show. Her vocal range is amazing and the band was completely tight (confirmed by 2 friends who play in local bands). She gave the songs her all and was a complete delight. Really glad to have been there!
