I honestly didn't expect Scott to be as good as he was, based on the last two times I saw him (2013, Mt. Pocono,Pa. and Wilmington, De.)
Notoriously late (about 40 minutes), Scott and the band took the stage with his band, the Wildabouts. The only one I recognized from the last shows was the Bass Guitarist.
Scott was not his usual nattily dressed self, looking disheveled in a t-shirt, wrinkled dress shirt, and vest. He opened with an STP staple, "cracker man", which was well received by the audience, a third of which remained standing the entire show.
After the first song, he told the crowd that he had been fighting "the flu" for three days.
The band only played two original songs, which Scott said were from their new Album, and filled the rest of the show with STP hits, with a few changes in the song arrangements.
The band came out for one encore song, and played for about an hour and ten minutes total. All in all, a pleasant surprise from the former STP front man. I hope to see him locally in the near future...
