QUEENSRYCHE IN CONCERT:

For more than three decades, progressive metal veterans Queensryche have been pushing the genre’s boundaries with their ambitious sound and electrifying performances on tour. At their staggering live shows the band takes the stage in all black, delivering powerful rock anthems like “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman” beneath a giant banner bearing their signature peregrine falcon-likeTri-Ryche logo. Former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche in 2012 and the band hasn’t missed a beat since, thrilling fans with extensive touring tirelessly and a return to the studio in 2015. Whether they’re rocking out to early favorites or playing cuts from their self-titled 2013 album, Queensryche always treats ticket buyers to an unforgettable concert experience full of potent tunes, virtuosic musicianship, and classic metal showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Queensryche formed in Bellevue, WA in 1982 from the ashes of local band The Mob. They received an early break when UK rock mag Kerrang! got wind of their demos and wrote a glowing review. The growing buzz in both the UK and the US led to impressive sales for their 1983 debut EP, and the following year the band released their debut album The Warning to a spot on the Billboard 200. Following a tour with Kiss the band released their 1986 sophomore album Rage for Order, a gold-certified outing that showcased a more polished rock sound. The band reached the pinnacle of their success in 1990 with the album Empire, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the Top 10 rock hits “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman”. Since then Queensryche has weathered numerous lineup changes while continuing to release records and tour with metal mainstays like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. In 2012 former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche, and he continues to helm the band as they bring their distinctive brand of metal-infused power balladry to fans around the world on tour.

    Terrible venue, very disappointing

by Mr. Boo on 5/1/24Empire Live - Albany

I attended the Friday night April 26 show at The Empire Live venue in Albany, New York. It should be renamed Empire DIVE. I’ve been going to concerts for 50 years and I’ve been to about 20 different venues over the years. This is absolutely THE worst venue I have ever been to. It’s as if they took part of a parking garage, blocked off a couple of walls and created a room out of it. The only saving grace was a hot bartender. It’s general admission, standing room only and they let way, way too many people in there. You can’t move around without pushing your way past people. They have one Men’s and one Lady's bathroom, tucked in one corner of the place, down a narrow corridor with a couple of stalls and urinals. I feel sorry for the ladies. I can’t imagine what that room looks like.  It’s dirty, there are drinks spilled all over the floor and the sound quality is horrible.  Unless you’re 6 feet tall or more, you won’t be able to see anything unless you’re right up front and I mean right up front. And there is no place to sit down at all. And there are poles holding up the ceiling that are conveniently blocking a lot of views.  I wouldn’t care if Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones were reuniting in this Empire Dive venue. I would not go, it’s that bad. As for the show, I was equally disappointed. Queensryche did not play any of their old stuff from the Empire album, which is when I saw them in the past. I don’t care if bands play their new stuff because obviously, they’re out there to promote it, but they really need to take care of some of their older fans and they did not do that at all. They played about an hour and a half and took a break, presumably before their encore. By that time I had been standing for over three hours and had had enough and left. The tickets were only $40 but you got what you paid for. Seriously folks, if you are an old time Queensryche fan, I guarantee you'll be disappointed with their show. Save your money.

    Uneven sound :(

by Metal on 4/30/24Empire Live - Albany

Sadly, Armored Saint had low-grade sound vs Queensryche. AS clearly lacked the sound quality of Queensryche. Why?

    Awesome show and talent

by Fkrockin on 4/29/24Empire Live - Albany

Queensryche sounded great and there performance and talent was exceptional. I’m hoping they’ll return to the Albany area again sometime within the year. The opening act Armored Saint sounded great too and was a great choice as a warm up band.

    Awesome show!!!

by JR on 4/29/24Empire Live - Albany

Venue was great. Small and intimate. Queensryche was simply amazing! On point and sounded great! The first band, Armored Saint, was very good as well. An overall fantastic show.

    Good Show Good Venue

by Fleckbass on 4/29/24Roxian Theatre - Pittsburgh

Nostalgic. Queensryche made their first appearance in Mckees Rocks back in the 80's. Snow Storm. Good Show. Like the Venue. Big Sound System. Cool Setting.

    Origins Tour

by Williams on 4/27/24Roxian Theatre - Pittsburgh

This was one of my favorite Queensrÿche concerts ever, and I’ve been to about 10. Hearing th EP and The Warning played front to back in their entirety was just a great time and the band was firing on all cylinders.

    Disappointed With the Sound System

by Dissatisfied on 4/24/24Bogart's - Cincinnati

I was very disappointed with the sound system at Bogart's, as I was unable to hear the vocals. I ended up leaving the concert early since I could only hear the guitar and feel the drums. I don't plan on going back to Bogart's a any additional concerts.

    Disappointed

by Jack on 4/23/24Théâtre Beanfield - Montreal

While I felt their performance was good, I was unaware of the Origins Tour and that they would be playing only the "Warning"album to its entirety. I'm a late bloomer to the Queensryche family and a fan of Geoff Tate, and have been following more of the mainstream songs they have out, like: Empire, Silent Lucidy, Walk in the Shadow, Jet City Woman, etc. I probably should have read more into the show itself, so this is probably on me, but I was disappointed, since the only song I knew the whole night was Queen of the Reich.
