QUEENSRYCHE IN CONCERT:

For more than three decades, progressive metal veterans Queensryche have been pushing the genre’s boundaries with their ambitious sound and electrifying performances on tour. At their staggering live shows the band takes the stage in all black, delivering powerful rock anthems like “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman” beneath a giant banner bearing their signature peregrine falcon-likeTri-Ryche logo. Former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche in 2012 and the band hasn’t missed a beat since, thrilling fans with extensive touring tirelessly and a return to the studio in 2015. Whether they’re rocking out to early favorites or playing cuts from their self-titled 2013 album, Queensryche always treats ticket buyers to an unforgettable concert experience full of potent tunes, virtuosic musicianship, and classic metal showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Queensryche formed in Bellevue, WA in 1982 from the ashes of local band The Mob. They received an early break when UK rock mag Kerrang! got wind of their demos and wrote a glowing review. The growing buzz in both the UK and the US led to impressive sales for their 1983 debut EP, and the following year the band released their debut album The Warning to a spot on the Billboard 200. Following a tour with Kiss the band released their 1986 sophomore album Rage for Order, a gold-certified outing that showcased a more polished rock sound. The band reached the pinnacle of their success in 1990 with the album Empire, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the Top 10 rock hits “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman”. Since then Queensryche has weathered numerous lineup changes while continuing to release records and tour with metal mainstays like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. In 2012 former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche, and he continues to helm the band as they bring their distinctive brand of metal-infused power balladry to fans around the world on tour.

Queensryche Origins Tour- a Must see!

by Topher on 4/19/24Bogart's - Cincinnati

So it has been quite a while since I have seen Queensryche (honestly going back to the Geoff Tate era) but when I heard that they were coming to Bogarts in Cincinnati and were playing the entire EP & The Warning album, I jumped on tickets immediately. For those like myself that has been a longtime fan of the band, I can tell you that they sound freaking amazing! Todd Latorre has all the vocal range needed to be able to hit all the highs and lows just like Tate did, the band sounds great and it was incredible to be able to hear songs from those albums that I had never heard played live. Especially classics like Take Hold of the Flame and Queen of the Reich. Having Armored Saint as the opener was a great extra treat as they played all their hits and rocked the house!

    Great show

by Ian Mykalz on 4/19/24Bogart's - Cincinnati

Great show, just wish they would have played more from Mindcrime and Empire. I understand it was called The Origins tour but only 1 song off the 2 albums that really made them huge back in the day....

    Disappointing

    by Rhino_Pub on 4/19/24Bogart's - Cincinnati

Overall I was pretty disappointed with the Queensryche show. They were one of my favorite bands back in the day that I wasn't able to see perform live during their prime. So I was excited to have the opportunity to see them. I figured at this point in their career, their shows would focus on their top hits but that was not the case at this recent show. Although I give them props for presenting the "Origins"theme to cover a couple albums cover to cover, I would have preferred that they include more of their tops hits that they left off the playlist. I was aware of the legality preventing the band from playing Operation: Mindcrime content. It was unfortunate that I couldn't experience the concert with the original lead singer G. Tate as the current vocalist just didn't impress me. Sadly, the opening act, Armored Saint who I was not familiar with, outperformed Queensryche on this night.

A great show from Both Queensryche and Armored Saint 🤘. I loved QR origins tour set list. AS set list was great to. Both bands were on the money. The venue at Kalamazoo State Theatre is cool as well. Staff there had lines moving smoothly. I would see a show there again.

    Walked away disappointed. . . .

by magicman on 4/16/24Kalamazoo State Theatre - Kalamazoo

Well, I've been a big Queensryche fan for years, Seen 'em several times in concert. I knew nothing about Armored Saint and looked forward to checking them out. I'm an entertainer / musician and love loud music. I also love good clean sound, nothing like I experienced at this show. When asked about the show I pretty much told everyone it was "2+ hours of noise". If the crew running sound thought it was good, well, maybe time for a new sound company. The musicians - awesome. At least I think they were, could not make out much of anything. Drums did however come through quite well and man, Casey Grillo was the highlight of the evening for me. Fantastic. Somewhat disappointed in Queensryche setlist-only early EP's (as advertised) but ZERO material from Empire and beyond. The venue is beautiful.

    Worst Concert Ever

by Stu on 4/16/24Kalamazoo State Theatre - Kalamazoo

Both Bands, Amored Saint and Queensryche were so loud, unless you really knew the songs, you had no idea what they were playing. The bass was so loud it literally pounded my heart and my ears are still not normal. I'm 60 years old, a life long drummer and grew up in bands, I love loud music but this was ridiculous. If it was the State Theaters problem, I will never see another concert there. We paid a lot of money to sit up front, security did nothing to keep people from coming up and standing in the aisles or in front of the stage. People were smoking dope in the aisles and acting poorly. Our experience was horrible. I only gave 1 star because it was the lowest.

Would live to actually hear the singer

by DJ on 4/12/24Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

Loved the concert, but you could only hear the high notes of Queensryche due to the band overpowering his voice almost totally. Armored Saint was a little better with being able to hear the actual songs.

    Thank you so much

by Jim Kasprak on 4/12/24Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

Clear, crisp sound with a perfect mix from the sound crew. Excellent performance. You can’t discount the chemistry from these guys working together for so long, you can hear that difference. One of the few 80s metal/rock bands that have endured through time and still deliver in a unique way. The energy throughout was fantastic. All we have say is thank you to queensrÿche.

I thought the concert was great. The lead singer did an awesome job and the opening act was really good. I wish they would have played more of the songs I’m really familiar with but it was still a good concert.

    Mighty Metal Tour Package

by Chainsaw Kane on 4/10/24Alliant Energy PowerHouse - Cedar Rapids

If you're a fan of these bands AND a fan of an early Metal vibe throwing you right back to where it all began, then you best go to this show. It was amazing from start to finish. John Bush sounds just as he did in 87-88!!! Queensryche is SOOOO tight with this line-up, and Todd L just nails the classics. Both Metal horns up on this one.
