The concert was spectacular in the two phases. The presentation of the soprano and the baritone was unforgettable. Obviously significantly aid the acoustic quality of the theater. Excellent pianist for a very difficult concert as is *the Emperor* from Bethoven. We enjoyed too much this beatiful concert.
We thoroughly enjoyed Rent at the Hollywood Bowl. It is a large venue, and hard to see the stage, but the TV monitors helped immensely. The show itself was well done. Kudos to NPH and the entire cast!
When I saw John Williams at the Hollywood I was very impresed and take back in time with his movie scores and his tribute to fellow conducters was very touching.
It was nice that they tried to make it as real as possible, but it is still not the real one in comparision.
It was great to be outdoors watching this iconic play. I would definitely go watch it again if it is done again. Thanks!
We had wonderful seats by the orchestra and able to see the conductor's face! Excellent job all, musicians, singers and conductor! The time flew by too quickly!
This guy is so amazing. He has so much energy, passion, and charisma. His command of the orchestra is impeccable. Great show. Los Angeles is fortunate to have him in the LA Phil.
Except for the brilliant and entrancing work for four trap sets by Julia Wolfe, this concert was mostly a rehashing of work done brilliantly by Steve Reich thirty-five years ago, e.g. "Music for Eighteen Musicians." These so-called cutting edge composers are in fact dull. Why couldn't LA Phil bring the master himself. Steve Reich is 75 and still going strong. Never trust the hype.
I was a visitor from Michigan. I greatly wished to see and experience the Concert Hall of which I had heard so very many complimentary remarks. The HAll did not disappointment. It is a phenomenal venue for musical performances and I was entralled with every variance and nuance. Dudamel was impressive bbut the work of art and the Ondes Martenot were the true stars supported well by Jean Thibauet.
