    Fogerty rocks again!

by Tracie on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Hollywood Bowl summertime concerts are the best! The L.A. Philharmonic was fantastic, followed by John Fogerty, who could have played a longer set, but maybe should play solo for us Fogerty fans. Was a wonderful evening, the best of classical and classic rock and fireworks.

NOT ENOUGH FOGERTY, TO MUCH PHILHARMONIC

by JACKSON on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

JOHN FORGERTY WAS GREAT BUT HIS SET WAS WAY TO SHORT .......WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO A LONG SET OF GREAT SONGS BUT HAD TO LISTEN TO THE PHILHARMONIC WAY TOO LONG..........SAW HIM AT THE STAGECOACH FESTIVAL WHEN HE PLAYED ABOUT TWICE AS LONG....

    TOO SHORT!!!

by fatikamus on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The Phil Harmonic was unnecessary and took up too much time. People paid to see John Fogerty, not them. This allowed for John to play only for an hour, which is WAY TOO SHORT for a concert. Bottom line, played great, but too short.

What a GREAT evening! The weather was perfect! When Fogerty sang Bad Moon Rising - There she was, coming through the fog that was rowing in. Perfect! And The Phil's mix of Bernstein, Williams, Copland and Sousa....WOW! Thank you Hollywood Bowl for a wonderful evening & 4th!!!

    Several "F" shows meaning fantastic

    by bwk1 on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Several "F" shows in one. First, the Food was fine. Then the LA Fill (Phil) with patriotic American music. Next Fogerty with music of my youth in the '70s. Then a Fusion of them playing together And a Fireworks finale combined with Sousa music! All Fantastic.

    Fogarty plays LA Phil

by JoeW on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This was a great concert with American music spanning several centuries from Sousa to Clearance Clearwater and John Williams. The LA Philharmonic was spectacular with an upbeat performance of classics from West SIde Story (Bernstein) and Howdown (Copland). After 50 years in the music business John Fogarty played for the first time with an orchestra. The timing of the band and orchestra was perfect although there was a bit too much sound all around. Fireworks were festive as usual and a great ending to a great night. Everyone joined in on America the beautiful at the end...a fitting tribute to a great country and those who have served her so well.

by shasha on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

What a nice evening at the Hollywood Bowl with the LA Philharmonic and John Fogerty. The music was terrific and the fireworks very impressive at the end of the concert. A great way to start the 4th of July weekend!

    John Fogerty and LA Philharmonic

by puggmama on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Amazing, the best artist chosen for the 4th of July venue and the songs with the Philharmonic Orchestra backing him was phenominal!! My guests were blown away with the music and and the fireworks to music.

    Fogerty and the LA Phil

by bringourtroopshomeobama on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

No orchestra should be backing 'Proud Mary," at least not the LA Phil. The horn arrangements mangled what is otherwise an American classic, a well constructed rock and roll anthem.

    Good thing for the Fireworks!

    by Superstar21 on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I would say that only 25% of the people were there to see John Fogerty. My son had no idea who he was and I only recognized one song. I think that the Hollywood Bowl could have done a better job.

    Fogerty rocked

by happy on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The orchestra was great but John Fogerty was awesome. Hearing all those classics was such a treat! To end it with such a fantastic fireworks show, was a double bonus.

Fireworks music & show was tired

by LouLou on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Entire evening lacked imagination. Fogerty was okay, but couldn't get the crowd involved.

    Fabulous, a must see.

by Casey on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The best I have seen, John Fogerty had the audience really moving and celebrate the 4 Th. of july. The LA Phil was fantastic too, could not have been better.

    Fogerty and Fireworks

by Emily on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The concert was excellent. The brief set played by the Philharmonic was lively and uplifting. John Fogerty sounded as good or better than ever. He played old favorites and rocked the crowd. The show closed with fireworks shot off in time to a John Phillip Sousa tune and they were truly spectacular. We took the kids and it was a great family night.

    Fogerty and the Phlharmonic

by tomfromthedesert on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Expected more Fogerty. Always would like more; however the LA Philharmonic was fantastic. They played American classics; you didn't have to be in to classical music to recognize and enjoy the music. Fogerty was great, as always. The LA Philharmonic backed him on a number of songs toward the end of the concert and that was fun. Supposedly Fogerty's first time playing with a philharmonic orchestra. I think that Fogerty got "conservative" in his performance but it was still fun to see. Fireworks were a nice bonus.

    Fireworks Spectacular was wonderful!

by katspajamas on 7/3/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Even though we were seated pretty high up in the bench seats, we still had a great time. The L.A. Phil was stellar as always and John Fogerty was energetic and really put on a great show. Hearing the two perform together was a special treat too! The finale was amazing. To the music of John Philip Souza, the fireworks went on for the whole song!
