Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball History
The University of Kentucky Wildcats have one of the most storied programs in all of men’s college basketball, leading all NCAA Division I basketball teams with the most all-time wins, highest all-time winning percentage and a record for total NCAA Tournament appearances. Kentucky has won an impressive 53 regular-season conference titles and 33 conference tournament championships, in addition to the National Invitation Tournament in 1946 and 1976. The Wildcats have been crowned NCAA Tournament champions eight times between 1948 and 2012.
The University of Kentucky men's basketball team played their first season in 1903, one year after the school’s women's basketball team was founded. Adolph Rupp took over as head coach for the men’s team in 1930, leading the Wildcats to their first four titles in 1948, 1949, 1951 and 1958. Rupp was replaced upon his retirement in 1972 by assistant coach Joe B. Hall, who brought Kentucky their fifth title in 1978. After coaching the NBA’s New York Knicks, Rick Pitino took over in 1989 and captured the 1996 championship before leaving after the next season to coach the Boston Celtics. In 1998, first-year coach Tubby Smith led Kentucky to a seventh championship, though it would take the Wildcats another 13 years to reach another Final Four and 14 years before winning their eighth title under current head coach John Calipari.
Countless legends have suited up for Kentucky, including coaches Pat Riley and Travis Ford, as well as such players as Dan Issel, Louie Dampier, Antoine Walker, Kenny "Sky" Walker, Rajon Rondo and Rex Chapman. Within the past decade, contemporary NBA stars such as Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall have played for the Wildcats. Kentucky has numerous conference and national rivals, but their in-state rivalry with Louisville is the most heated, further stoked by former Wildcats coach Rick Pitino leading the Cardinals from 2001 to 2017.

Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball at Rupp Arena
Lexington, Kentucky, is home to the winningest college basketball program in NCAA Men's Division I. The Wildcats play at Rupp Arena, which opened in 1976 and currently seats 20,545. Its name honors legendary Wildcats head coach Adolph Rupp, who ranked as the winningest coach in men’s college basketball at the time of his retirement in 1972. The venue has undergone several renovations, including a $16 million project that was completed in 2016 and a seating upgrade in 2019. Rupp Arena notched its capacity record of 24,480 in 2010 during a rivalry matchup win against the Louisville Cardinals.
Some of the biggest games for Kentucky this upcoming season includes vs. the Kansas Jayhawks at the United Center in Chicago on November 14, vs. North Carolina on December 16, vs. Louisville on December 21, and vs. Gonzaga on February 10. Ticketmaster is great. So user friendly. I sat in row CC. Was on tv many times. Got to meet new people and friends for ever. Ticketmaster sends many emails including leading up to your event. Giving you all the information you need about your event.
It is the introduction to the all the newest Wildcats, It often serves as the first experience for new players to 15,000 to 20,000 fans and their first experience in Rupp Arena.

seats were great could see most of the action would not recommend them because you couldn't see the big boards
The good news is that it was a fun game, ticket prices were cheap, and there were past UK alumni there too. The bad news is that the website showed most of the lower level seats unavailable (for 3 or more seats), but there were lots of empty seats and rows in the lower level.

Was great event The DJ is HORRIBLE He is not in touch with the crowd or generation of ppl or he would see no one into that rap music. I looked around us and saw ppl talking some were making comments about had bad music was I saw ppl with their own headphones on to listen to their own music or pregame show But either way please find another DJ
The tickets arrived as scheduled. WE walked into the arena and then to the seats. NO issues.
We had a great time as these were the closest seats we've ever had.
I took my granddaughter and we had a wonderful time. This is such a good way to see each team member play. You still have the feel of a Wildcat game but just focusing on our team. The atmosphere was fun. Parking was great. In/out quickly. Food service great. Just overall relaxing evening out.
We were able to see all of the new players and see them play. Coach Calipari set the stage by explaining what we would see. And the scrimmage began. It was good to see the he sent improvement of returning players and to meet the new ones.
If you are a Kentucky fan you absolutely must attend a game at Rupp Arena. The experience is worth every penny of the ticket. There is no other sporting event quite like it! Go Cats!!
Rupp Area was an awesome venue. The game was exciting and fun to be apart of. The atmosphere was like nothing I've been apart of before. You simply cannot experience that from the coach at home.

I was able to get a great seat in the lower section at a Rupp Arena just a couple of days before the UK vs LSU game using the Ticketmaster Website. It was a great game and well worth the money I paid for the ticket.
Great atmosphere. Exciting game. Had a good seat. UK is always exciting on the basketball court. It was special seeing it live in Rupp Arena.

Took my 2 boys and Dad to a basketball game. First game for my boys, and I have not seen a game since 86. The upgrades to Rupp are amazing. Not even NBA games can match the atmosphere. The sound... The bass is amazing. I was really surprised you could fill a arena with that much sound.
I always forget how boring this game is ... I went because I didn't get madness tickets because the system for that sucks, but this game is truly boring .... hope I remember that next year.
