Journey in Concert

As the original legends of arena rock, few bands in existence put on a show quite like Journey. Anchored by singer Arnel Pineda's thrilling vocals and Neal Schon's unstoppable guitars, the band continues to show fans, both old and new, exactly how it's done as they tear through marathon sets of classics like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms." After a short break from their relentless tour schedule, they're primed to blow minds again in 2014, pairing up with Steve Miller Band for select dates that are sure to be the stuff of classic rock legend for years to come.

Journey Background

San Francisco-born Journey is the quintessential arena rock band. Assembled in 1973 from the ashes of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band has since gone through a number of line-up changes — only stalwart guitarist Neal Schon has been with every incarnation. Despite a rotating roster, the band has sold 47 million albums in the US, and is consistently named one of the ten best American rock bands in history. While the '70s and '80s provided them with the most commercial success, their current manifestation with Filipino singer Arnel Pineda has given them truly global breadth.

    Spectacular from start to finish

by DC on 4/30/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

From the moment Toto walked on stage to the massive confetti/streamer release at the end of Journey’s show, the Journey/Toto show in Norfolk was superb. They rocked all the songs you wanted to hear with energetic professionalism. Go see them if you can.

    Learning on the fly

by Gooey on 4/30/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

Seats were for small and skinny people ONLY. Toto sound was mushy to okay as they played. Same with Journeys Soundsystem. I paid almost $1,000 for 2 tickets for good, not great seats (f-1 row4) People crowded the floor in front so now we had to stand to see band. If I'd known I would have bought cheap seats and ran down to the stage like the experienced locals. My wife and I deserve a better deal if we trust you to buy again. The bands played great but should have played longer and performed encores.

Took my daughter to the Journey/Toto concert for her 41st birthday (she’s a HUGE 80’s music fan and Journey is her favorite band) Both bands gave energetic and passionate performances!

    A blast!

by Krissy on 4/30/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

We had a blast!! Journey was great! The current singer did a great job! We loved the whole show! But we will never pay the extra money for the VIP packages again tho. What you get in the package is definitely not worth what you pay. And you still have to wait in the super long lines for everything.

Great singing, too much guitar solo

by Little Big Man on 4/30/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

Singing was fantastic. Music was excellent, except for the fact that there was too much guitar solos that went on and on and on. We know that the guitar player is excellent at his job, but we don’t need to hear it all the time on every song. That took away from Enjoying the concert to its fullest. You can easily take a bathroom break on every song during those guitar solos. Ho hum. If I could just delete all those guitar solos, I would be Very happy..

Band is great, but sound & lines were not

by NY Chik on 4/29/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

They are a great band, but sound was awful. We were on the floor, sitting next to center aisle 2/3 away from stage. Not much clarity on the sound, vocals were not heard unless it was a slower song, treble seemed high & speakers couldn't handle the volume. I had a blast despite poor sound. The lines for alcohol & ladies bathroom were extremely long, both length & duration, which was disappointing as you miss more of the show.

    Not worth the ticket price

by JDea on 4/29/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

Lifetime Journey fan here – this was the eighth time I’ve seen them live. It pains me to say the show was not great. The sound quality was terrible and it was not just having an off night. We saw them two years ago in Virginia Beach and had the same experience. Unfortunately, it’s time to stop believing’— live in concert anyway.
