The most positive thing about this festival was the artist lineup, Gary Richards knows how to book good talent. However there were many negatives. - Only offered 2 low cost types of beers, runs out of 1 of them on the first day. - Security was extremely rude and uninviting. I understand keep people safe but the amount of disrespect I received was a very uninviting tone to enter the event. - They lowered the overall capacity yet at times we weren't allowed to go into certain tents because it reached a "capacity" Overall very disappointed and very unlikely to come back.
Crowd was great. All there to dance and listen to great thumpin' music. Everyone was welcomed. Police presence discouraged drugs. Water available for water bottles and camelbacks. A/C pavilions. Ladies dressed to be noticed.
The security was like going through TSA at the airport. I didn't appreciate being extremely violated when I was basically strip searched and sniffed down by dogs. The event space was overcrowded, cramped, smoky, and way too hot. Some performances were closed down because they had reached capacity, making the money I spent not worth it. So many drunk and drugged up people walking around acting stupid as well. I have been attending HARD events for two years, and am no longer interested in going. Way to screw it up, Destructo.
It was very frustrating that they were not letting people into the venues/stages and the stages were not even half full. Pay so much money to stand outside because supposedly the stage was at capacity is ridiculous! Also, why pay over 30 firemen to stand in front of a stage and refuse entry to the stage? really?
overall the festival was decent. rating 3 stars out of 5. I like the idea of festivals with indoor stages so that was a plus, the reason for the lost starts is credited to the overwhelming long waits in lines to pass the entrance and to get passed security. we stood 1 hour + in these lines which caused us to miss some of the performances.
I did not like how the event ended at 11 for it being a 21 and over. The music was awesome but I really dislike the time it needed. I will not be attending this event nor will I tell my friends about it.
Deadmau5's set cutout. Twice. That can't happen when he's the headliner. Also, having 3 different lines for security, ID check, and ticket check makes altogether 0 sense. Do it all at once.
To be perfectly honest I was frustrated about the comment that a security guard made during the part when we get searched so I was not too happy about hard at first. That being said turns out that it was one of the most relaxing exciting and ridiculously amazing festivals that I've been to within the past 10 years. Just hope to see Daft Punk next year !!!
I bought my festival ticket to hard because I have been the past 3 years and the stages are always massive outdoor stages. This was the first year they did it all indoor and me and all of my friends will not go back to an indoor festival. I felt like we might have well been in a big night club. Festivals are meant to be out doors.
After an awful experience at HARD Summer I had a feeling that this event would be my last HARD event. Thankfully, Day of the Dead was a much better experience. There weren't nearly as many attendees which made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I still think that LA State Historic Park would be a much better venue, especially given the fact that the attendance cap was lowered significantly.
felt like i was being watched a lot of the time and kind of ruined it for me. although i do like that it is in ware houses and smaller setting for a more intimate experience
Great music! Just ends too early. The authorities were making plenty of arrest, but if you aren't doing anything wrong, you're set!
So I hadn't been to an EDM event in a long time. The last one was probably massive when it was at the coliseum. Before that EDC at the coliseum. So we obviously had high hopes for our festival experience. I know it was put on by completely different coordinators, but for us the DJs were great, it was just the lack of everything else from the event, there weren't any other awesome "things" like decoration, glow vendors, event staff dressed up, gogo dancers, every other electronic music festival I had been to was just a festival for all senses ears, eyes I don't know maybe everything has changed? I will say that I was EXTREMELY HAPPY that is is at least 21 and over. I'm near 30 and still felt there were too many very young looking kids. One more thing was the disorganization with the entrance and exit systems both at the venue and in the parking lots. Overall it was nice to be at a festival but not sure if I'd attend another hard event....
HARD Day of the Dead 2015 was by far one of the greatest weekends EVER! My group of about 30 people and myself had such a great time. All the artists killed it on stage, the air conditioned warehouses, being able to walk around with beer and drinks, the security guards at the rails of the stage passing out water to keep people hydrated. HARD events, good job! Only thing I would have to complain about would be the first line to get in, on Saturday there was a huge crowd and it took forever to move, I missed a few people I wanted to see. If the first line was a little more organized, I would've given 5 stars. Bottom line, everything else was amazing...thanks for the memories!
At least that's what it felt like. My friends and I were constantly being stopped and asked by police. Several times at the entrance, while walking between stages (two officers questioned my being of legal drinking age when I was walking with a beer), while sitting down and resting, while dancing, and basically whenever I reached into my fanny pack. While I totally understand the situation that HARD has been put in because of HARD Summer, their attempts at cracking the whip affected was felt by everyone and not just those who were detained or arrested. The DGAF experience was completely non-existent. Additionally, the Uber pick-up area was also crazy. Not to mention 6.0x surge rate is ridic. Upside, there was definitely a lot of space, which is cool if you're a person who doesn't like being crowded in festival stages. + Henry Fong and Brillz went DF OFF!
I personally, love HARD events. I have always had an amazing exerience at every event that I've ever attended. I always feel like the HARD line up introduces me to new and interesting music. There are variables that they cannot control such as ungodly heat, wind, and humidity... but HARD has finally found a perfect venue; the Fairplex in Pomona. The place is very spacious, the air conditioning was awesome, and the staff maintained such a clean atmosphere! It was so nice to have breathing room, clean facilities and not twisting my ankles on empty water bottles and trash. Plus, as previously stated, the music is always awesome! I had a great time dancing my ass off.
It was awesome. It was an unforgettable experience.
The sound quality of the event was awful. We really wanted to see Hotchip and ended up leaving to get food 20 min Into their set because the acoustics of the building and sound setup made everything sound terrible. Like a rattling can in a car bad. The drinks were priced high as expected for an event. Security was rigorous and the amount of police at the venue this year made people very uncomfortable. More cops then I've ever seen at a single event.... They must be having a tough time keeping an insurance company. We're done with HARD events ... They just aren't worth it. There are plenty of other show runners that do a better job dollar for dollar. Save your money next year and see something else. It's likely they won't fix any of their issues...
The lines to get in were horrible! At one point people were pushing and shoving each other just to get into the line were you get searched. There was only a couple artists I liked. On the good side less people actually made it more comfortable to dance and get closer to the stage. Not worth the $100 though.
