    Awesome!

by kuroneko43 on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Loved loved loved the venue. Having the stages indoors was really nice. The variety of beverages and food and the free water stations were great. Also having access to real bathrooms was super awesome. I would definitely come back to an event at this venue. I had never heard of many of the smaller name bands but everyone I saw was good. Nero and Deadmau5 were amazing as always. Overall HARD did an awesome job with this event. Oh and thanks for having a lower capacity it really made a positive difference!

HARD DotD was a game changer!!

by Rav3Mom on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

I was not expecting to have such a life changing experience at Hard DotD. I am 23, form SD, and I went with my husband and our 2 closest friends. We are ravers and love insomniac events, but wanted to see Deadmau5 so we chose Hard for Halloween night. All the stages were inside with A/C blasting which was refreshing, and when you stepped outside it was so re-energizing that it was peaceful and quiet. Because this was a 21+ event, I didnt see nearly as much chaos, just people dancing like crazy and being kind and having a great time. I want to go baaaaacck. <3

    Just Fair

by MusicLoverSoul on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

I go to a lot of music festivals and this event was, by far, the worst one. I wish I would have know that there would be lines in order to get to see specific artists because of the maximum capacity of building. I spent way too much time just standing outside waiting to get in. If i would have know this was going to be the case, I would have just done a different event. I will no longer be attending any HARD events.

    Disappointed

by Laniyah on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Stop having the same DJ's. Like Skrillex. More police than fans.

They overreacted to the incident last summer and put out a huge negative vibe with all the supervision of over 100 cops at the festival.

Too much unnecessary security ruined the event

by JennyGinn on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Really?!? 500 security people hired for this event? It was ridiculous how long the lines were to get in when the festival wasn't even that packed. I went on Saturday around 3pm and was standing in the hot sun in FOUR DIFFERENT SECURITY LINES for over an hour. I felt like an accused criminal when all my friends and I wanted to do was enter the event. There was no shade and no water available for the 4 checkpoints we had to stand in. They also took my chapstick, which is ridiculous. The people searching bags were not trained at all and took an especially long time to search bags, which usually doesn't take that long. Also while in the event, the influx of security was so annoying. I felt like I was being stared at the whole time like someone in jail when all we were doing was dancing and having a good time. All of the performances were held inside which I also didn't like. I liked how last year the concert-attendee had the option to see an act outside on the large main stage or inside for some of the smaller artists. The buildings felt packed and at times, people weren't allowed in due to capacity restraints. On day one, the sound for the main indoor stage was so off that even the dj was complaining about the low quality. That should've been checked before the headliner went on stage because it interrupted the flow of the concert. I thought making the event 21+ would be a good thing because it deters younger concert-goers who cannot handle this type of event, but it ended up being way worse than the last few years I've attended. I've been the last 4 years and do not plan on going to another HARD event if it is like this. Highly disappointed and not worth the money.

    Needs Improvement

by ScottMcCoy805 on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Sound quality was terrible at Hot Chip. They sounded like they were underwater! It was Similarly at Deadmau5, the entire system shorted out multiple times. He rolled with it pretty well, claiming "Man what are the odds that two iPods break in one show?!" I wish that they had allowed glow poi. They were letting glow hoops through the gate, and It sucks not being able to spin and having to go all the way back to my car to drop off my poi and go through security again. Security was more invasive than most airports I've been though! All in all I had a good time, but there's definitely room for improvement.

This year Day of the Dead was semi-disappointing. The stages were nothing compared to last year or Hard Summer. The production level is disappointing for the price of the ticket. The lineups are usually pretty good but the idea of having inside stages was terrible. If LA is requiring you all of these strict rules, you should play these 2 events in better locations where the surrounding neighborhoods won't have to get upset by the sound or the treatment of their property by people attending. I hate this location now and will not be attending events at the Pomona Fairplex.

    Went Hard on Hard DOTD!

by Lynchesca on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Way better now since they've increased the age limit. Not so crowded and the crowd were respectful and mature. Although the stages were mostly inside, we all had fun! Didn't like that they would close off the stages even though it wasn't full. We would had to leave a stage five minutes early so we won't get locked out.

    Amazing Event!

by Nickname20152015 on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Everything worked out perfectly. 21+ festival is definitely the way to go. Parking wasn't awful but it was free this year! The lines and security went quick. All the stages were great. Restrooms were relatively well kept. Way better than last year. This year they actually had filtered water. I would give 2014 HARD DOTD 1.5 stars but this definitely 5 in comparison to other events.

A big step up from hard summer!

by jbiird250 on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

This was my second year attending HARD day of the dead and my third HARD event. Overall, it has been my favorite HARD event by far! The lineup was spectacular and the indoor stages really held the event all together. The 21+ crowd, for the most part, held themselves together and respected everyone around them. It was a great time and definitely brought back hope to the HARD brand.

    Best Halloween EVER!

by paolaBEEZY on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

It was such an easy process to get through the lines. The fact that it was 21+ was even better because there was literally a bar in every single stage and just everywhere around the Fairplex! The lighting for all the shows was amazing! Can't wait will next year!!!

Excellent job increasing security to the point where irresponsible attendees with copious amounts of illegal substances were not allowed in. Bravo. Appreciated the stages being indoors to allow things like lazers and a generally louder performance, but one or two outdoor stages could and would have still been great to switch things up. Sound quality still wasnt all there at some points, with way to much bass drowning out all other levels of each song. Overall, great job making sure HARD will stay on the list of future festivals to come.

This was my last Hard event ever. I've been coming to DOTD for 4 years now but this year was just a mess. Starts too early, ends too early, constant harassment and rudeness from security.

    Day of the dead

by Michnastyy on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

This is event was better than it ever was. Especially it being 21+ made it more exclusive. There was no crowd when I was walking. Only crowded at the main stage. It was very easy to buy drinks, because there were bars pretty much everywhere. So much more convienent not having beer gardens aswell. I will definitely be coming back for more hard events here!

    Last year was better

by jenjen25 on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

Last year was better overall. The free parking was the best thing. Deadmau5 was the reason I went and the crappy sound equipment provided blew. Huge disappointment.

    lost

by calidancingirl on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

i've been attending hard events for about 4 years now. long enough to watch the rise and now fall. the production value was less that years prior and the sound quality was a distraction to the performances. they still bring in some great talent but i don't think they're doing the event much justice by putting them in a room not ideal for sound or skimping on the production efforts. my suggestion would be to scale back to one day to get it right instead of trying to drag it out to two day.

a lot of swing and misses

by notmyrealnamelel on 11/3/15Fairplex At Pomona - Pomona

This is a 21+ event. Why are they putting wristbands on people to identify that they are 21+? I went to the beer section a few times and they were asking some people to show their wristband in order to order drinks. Another thing was the fire code. Yes it's importand to follow fire code; but after I left Nero 10 minutes in, there were easily 100-150 people waiting to get in because the stage was a capacity. This is the only negative I had about all the stages being indoors. And it still took me over an hour to leave the venue. Even after HARD promised a better exit expereince and they worked hard on adding different routes and smoother exits. Free parking was great. Easy entry. (Then again I showed up at 7) Never once did I have to wait in line for the restroom. Sound system could of been better, but was a lot better than previous years.
