About

One remarkable dance team. One big chance. One small twist. You gotta be over 60.

From the director/choreographer of Kinky Boots comes the incredible true story of ten determined dreamers who audition to dance at half time for a major NBA team. They have three things in common: they love to dance, they have something to prove, and they are all over 60. It isn’t until they make the cut that they find out they won’t be dancing tap, salsa or swing—they are going to bring down the house with a style that’s entirely new to them: hip hop. Don’t miss this original Broadway-bound musical about a group of ordinary seniors with extraordinary dreams as they battle pain, prejudice, self-doubt and each other for a chance to bust a move at center court in front of 20 thousand screaming fans.

    GOTTA DANCE WAS UNFORGETTABLE!

by BeanieGknee1 on 1/10/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Stefanie Powers was the reason I came to Chicago to see this play. She was brilliant! Amazing, funny, and I could see it everyday and never get tired of it. If they had this play on DVD I'd buy a copy for sure.

Gotta Dance was a bundle of laughs.

by LKR72 on 1/9/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Extremely funny & witty with some life lessons subtly thrown in. Lot of energy from a "mature" group of dancers.

    Gotta Dance was hysterical!

by Tetka on 1/9/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

What a great performance by the cast! It was so up lifting and funny! We all are going there, some earlier than others, but a great way of looking at growing old! I haven't laughed that much in a long time, maybe because I am over 60 but this will be fun for anyone!

Loved the show. Hope it makes it to Broadway. It needs a little tweaking in the first act but should be a hit in NY.

    Such a BRILLIANT production!!!

by SoundGuy55 on 1/7/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Gotta Dance was such an amazing story brought to life on stage. The well-developed musical evoked a plethora of emotion as it touched on various subjects with which anyone in attendance could relate. The star-studded cast could not have had any better chemistry. I look forward to the opportunity of one day catching the production on Broadway!

    You've gotta see 'Gotta Dance'

by Jeanne793 on 1/5/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

One of the best musicals I've seen in a longtime. All the cast members put on a super performance and I am making plans to see them when they hit Broadway later this year!!

    A Fun Play

by ked4300 on 1/5/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Took my wife to this play for her 63rd birthday. We had a great time! We really enjoyed the individual stories within the main play. Most of all, it was inspiring for people of our age to enjoy life and be willing to try new things. Younger folks really seemed to enjoy it also. I highly recommend sing this play.

    Great Show!

by KarenMateling on 1/5/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

The show was really funny and we all had a great laugh, while some of the messages for those caring for elderly family really shines through. Our group (my daughter, two sister in - laws and mother-in law) ages were from 17-90 and all loved it and could relate to it. We sat in mezzanine left and towards the back but could see very well. The theater is beautiful but not a lot of leg room for tall people. I recommend buying your tickets for parking on line and then you don't have to wait in the machine lines when returning home Well worth the 60 mile drive!

    Gotta Dance was a JOY

by flashqueen63 on 1/5/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Having seen the snippet this past summer at "Broadway in Chicago", my interested was piqued and this production did not disappoint! I would go to see this again. The seniors were being taught Hip-Hop routines, but the music, thankfully, was NOT all Hip-Hop.There were enough lively rhythms to make me want to dance in the aisles, however. I could understand every word in the music of the vignettes which told the stories of each "featured" character; those songs were so pleasant to the ear and they could evoke emotion from the audience.

I took my mother and my daughter and we all had an equally good time. I would recommend this to anyone and would love to see it again if it was here longer! I enjoyed Geogia Engel's performance very much!

    Sophomoric

by GoodyMarie on 1/3/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Hard to believe this is Broadway bound. I wonder if it will make it to Off, Off, Off, Off Bway...If you don't mind humor that you might have seen on LaVerne and Shirley, this is your cup of tea. Insulting to anyone who is older: really, are we all simply that goofy?
