She has a limited tour schedule and I wasn't always free when she was near my hometown of Philadelphia, PA. But Washington, DC was close enough to make a trip out of it. We stayed at the historic Lombardy Hotel which was only two blocks away. Her voice was better than we expected. Crisp, clear and with a greater range than I thought she had. So much control and depth to her vocal abilities. She sang many familiar songs and even the ones that weren't so familiar were good. The show lasted about 90 minutes and she was accompanied by a most wonderful guitarist (can't recall his name). They played off each other a number of times to the crowds pleasure. I can't wait for the next opportunity to see her again! Viva, Gal Costa!!!

by Denny88 on 3/27/11Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonA Brazilian national treasure....I searched for ten months in Brazil to see Gal perform live but without success and then came back to DC to find her right here. The concert was superb - the venue is a modest-sized auditorium and she was accompanied by an outstanding guitarist.

by Fan340 on 3/27/11Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonPerhaps not a fiery as her CDs, but a wonderful show for any who appreciate her music. It was Gal accompanied by a single guitarist. She did a wide verity of songs (both her own and covers - Tom Jobim, Chico, etc.). She played for a straight 1 1/2 hrs, with 2 encores. The venue (Lizner Auditorium) was excellent.
