FORTUNATE YOUTH IN CONCERT:

Fortunate Youth are a blast to watch in concert as they deliver animated live performances that showcase their blend of classic dub and surf reggae. All six members demonstrate stunning artistry with strong melodies, boisterous guitar solos, island-inspired  percussion, and nifty vintage organ sounds. Especially captivating is frontman Dan Kelly, whose unique voice is raspy, soulful, and passionate as he belts lyrics that advocate a sunny state of mind. With feel-good favorites like "Sweet Love", "Positive", and "Peace, Love and Unity" propelling their sets to epic heights, Fortunate Youth always treat ticket buyers to a blissful concert experiences they won't soon foret.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

In 2009 six members from two different Los Angeles-based reggae bands -- Rudeboy Roots and Irie State of Mind -- teamed up to form the supergroup Fortunate Youth. They made their recording debut with the 2010 EP Up-Lifted before releasing their first full-length album, 2011's Irie State Of Mind. In 2012 they toured heavily alongside acts including The Expendables, Tribal Seeds, Dirty Heads, and The Wailers, earning a reputation as a must-see live band. A year later they released their critically acclaimed sophomore album It's A Jam, a rootsy collection of reggae tracks with that rose to No. 1 on Billboard's Reggae Charts and iTunes' Reggae Charts. With a new album in the works and a rapidly growing fanbase, Fortunate Youth continue to deliver joyous and unmissable live performances.

  • Fortunate youth

by Jimbo on 11/9/25The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

What an awesome experience one of the best reggae shows I've ever seen so glad I pulled the trigger and bought tickets.... Place was jam-packed the even improvement I can see Stone pony doing is adding Porta potties. One little toilet doesn't do the trick for a thousand people

  • Music Brings Us Together

by JWA on 11/9/25The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

A packed Stone Pony brought the energy and so did the bands. A lineup of 3 heavy hitters on one bill. Josh Heinrich, Bumpin Uglies and Fortunate Youth killed their sets. Vibes were on point from start to finish. An incredible night all around!

  • Best night ever

I wish more artists would play at the Bellwether 🤙🏽everywhere you stand is a great view i just wish Josh could’ve played longer he’s a damn good reggae singer that doesn’t tour in the LA area to much anymore

  • They crushed it!

by Pete on 6/3/25Bernie's Beach Bar - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome venue for a show at Bernie’s beach bar in NH, and the perfect band for it! Fortunate Youth crushed it! Fun night, great band live!

  • Love me some FY!

by Ginger and Blues on 2/18/25The Sound - Del MarRating: 4 out of 5

This venue is amazing especially if you splurge on balcony seat tickets. I very much enjoyed all the bands and musicians UNTIL THE LAST FEW MINUTES of the Fortunate Youth set when a bunch of rappers came out to have their 2 minutes and completely took over the stage. I paid to see reggae and especially Fortunate Youth. You could see Dan Kelly kinda tune out and look completely bored SO WERE WE! Stoked to see my favorite bands hit super unhappy with this promotional aspect of their manager. Disappointed

  • GREAT SHOW

  • Great show

by Felisha on 5/14/24Bernie's Beach Bar - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I expected the show to be amazing after seeing these guys on SugarShack Sessions but WOW did this exceed our expectations. Sorry that 90% of the crowd was too drunk to show more enthusiasm and applaud the performers like they should have.

  • Awesome show!!!

It was our first time seeing Fortunate Youth and we had such a good time, they sound incredible live and put on an awesome live show. These guys are special humans that make some real healing music. Went from being just a regular fan to a hardcore fan, I will be seeing them again every single time they come back. FY - If you read this, much love guys, please come back to Maine / NH again soon! 👊🏼
