FORTUNATE YOUTH IN CONCERT:

Fortunate Youth are a blast to watch in concert as they deliver animated live performances that showcase their blend of classic dub and surf reggae. All six members demonstrate stunning artistry with strong melodies, boisterous guitar solos, island-inspired  percussion, and nifty vintage organ sounds. Especially captivating is frontman Dan Kelly, whose unique voice is raspy, soulful, and passionate as he belts lyrics that advocate a sunny state of mind. With feel-good favorites like "Sweet Love", "Positive", and "Peace, Love and Unity" propelling their sets to epic heights, Fortunate Youth always treat ticket buyers to a blissful concert experiences they won't soon foret.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

In 2009 six members from two different Los Angeles-based reggae bands -- Rudeboy Roots and Irie State of Mind -- teamed up to form the supergroup Fortunate Youth. They made their recording debut with the 2010 EP Up-Lifted before releasing their first full-length album, 2011's Irie State Of Mind. In 2012 they toured heavily alongside acts including The Expendables, Tribal Seeds, Dirty Heads, and The Wailers, earning a reputation as a must-see live band. A year later they released their critically acclaimed sophomore album It's A Jam, a rootsy collection of reggae tracks with that rose to No. 1 on Billboard's Reggae Charts and iTunes' Reggae Charts. With a new album in the works and a rapidly growing fanbase, Fortunate Youth continue to deliver joyous and unmissable live performances.

    Fantastic

by Chris on 11/6/22The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

For starters, Joe Samba opened for the Elovators, and blew the doors off the Pony! I was so impressed by the sound quality and the energy he brought! The Elovators did not disappoint, which is why I was there to begin with. The vibe was amazing, so I stayed front and center stage the entire time. Fortunate Youth did an amazing show. I felt that bass in my soul! I would wrap this review up by saying, it was one of the best live shows I've been to. Good Vibes! Good times!

    Not great

by AH on 11/21/21MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake Tahoe

Venue is bizarre. Can’t see anything if you’re 5 rows back. Lead singer of Fortunate Youth was obviously too intoxicated. Not a good performance, felt bad for his band mates who looked tired and over his antics. Could tell it’s a frequent occurrence. I have seen them twice (and last now) and both now were a disappointment

    by E. D. on 11/25/19Ace of Spades - Sacramento

Thank you to Fortunate Youth, Mike Love and Ace of Spades for a great show in Sacramento. Missed Kash'd Out due to long lines to get into building which is the only suggestion I have for Ace of Spades.

Fortunate Youth, Hirie and Sensamotion rocked!

by FLReggaeFan on 4/7/15Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

This is the first Fortunate Youth show I've been to but it certainly won't be the last. The Culture Room is an awesome venue that doesn't offer any bad views of the stage. The stage was cramped for the number of musicians and their various instruments but it worked. Excellent collaboration for the last 2 songs of the Youth set, not to be missed. 5 acts performing in one night for $15 can't be beat! The Culture Room security just needs to lighten up some.

Fortunate youth and true press must hear

by TanyaGshiiitt on 4/2/14Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

If you want to enjoy a good vibe, island feel, and bands that sound exactly the same as they do on spotify, live go see these groups. Miami needs to get on board with this reggae vibe.
