About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No.1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and will head out on the headlining Island Glow Tour in 2023.

Dirty Heads @ Firefly Distillery, Charleston SC

    by MN on 8/2/23

So much to say. - Concert was great, DH rocked and the openers were excellent - No problems with purchasing tickets - The problems related to ambiguity on the venue’s side when it comes to VIP. Venue apparently has a VIP that is not included with VIP tickets which has inside access, bathrooms, etc. - Coordination between venue and Ticketmaster needs to be stronger to let buyers know what is and isn’t included.

Dirty Heads always never cease to amaze me! We have seen them 5 times now at multiple venues and are always nothing short of impressed! Sound and stage were amazing. We were delighted to hear the live brass instruments! Amazing show and can't wait to see them again! Keep bringing the new vibes! Love the new album!

    Love The Dirty Heads...but...

    by W0lfpack on 7/31/23

I love The Dirty Heads! Main reasons for 3 stars... Your light person needs to go stand in the crowd for a show. The blinding spotlights going low in your face the majority of the time during the show really sucks! Sounds trivial but it is terrible. I thought music was good and tons of energy but could have used more beach vibe and less hard core rap vibe. That's just me and one opinion. Still love the Dirty Heads.

    Vacation Vibes

    by Bridges37 on 7/31/23

This show was so incredibly good! All the bands knocked it out of the park. Dirty Heads brought it like they always do! Only complaint is that I wish Dirty Head would have played longer. There is a weekday curfew and bands have to stop at 10:30pm and with multiple opening bands, it limited their time. But it was still fabulous and I will go next time they are in town FOR SURE!

    Horrible Business Decision

    by Brandon on 7/30/23

About a month prior to the concert I received a special alert that the concert was being moved up from 730p to 6pm which at the time didn't register to me that this would be during the hottest part of the day. At 6pm it 97 degrees and the heat index was 101 Myself and others were hiding from the sun however in an outdoor venue there is only so far you can hide. It was a miserable experience as I was sweating profusely and the artist I came to see Lupe Fiasco only played a few songs that I enjoyed. Please no more middle of the summer middle of the day concerts. I regret for all the days of my life as it was a terrible experience.

    Terrible experience-promoter ripoff

    by Thomas on 7/30/23

People be aware that if you buy tickets to show the promoter can set a min price you can sell at and if you can not make it you will not be able to sell your tickets. Happened to me and while prices dropped like a rock my tickets at to be sold at almost 3 times near concert date all my money was lost. Such a ripoff and i will never buy tix early.

    Favorite show

    by Tony D on 7/25/23

This is the 2nd time I saw Dirty Heads at this venue. First off the venue is a great place to see a show. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the sound is incredible. Dirty heads recreated their songs perfectly, sounds exactly like on the album. It’s amazing every nuance is recreated, the horns, percussion, everything. First time I went with my oldest daughter, this time we decided to take my wife and all 3 kids. From adults in their 50’s, to a 19 year old, and twins who are 15, everyone had a great time and we will definitely see them again!

    Sadly disappointed

    by Kelly on 7/25/23

I love the Dirty Heads music but was disappointed seeing them in person. The show was to start at 7. They had 2 opening acts and didn’t come on until 9:40 only played to 10:55 literally played their last song and left the stage no encore. I’ll still listen to their music but won’t see them in person.
