About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

  • Great concert, not so great venue

by Dbo on 8/18/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 4 out of 5

Couldn't get anywhere near the stage so basically watched the concert on the monitors. Sleezy smokeflower crew added a very large unauthorized tip for themselves when I purchased a shirt.

  • Unforgettable

by Badfish21 on 8/18/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 5 out of 5

We brought my 3 year old daughter to see The Dirty Heads. She loves their songs every time I put them on. Seeing her jump with excitement when J and Duddy hit the stage was the most memorable moment for us as parents! She sang and danced all night! Such an amazing show!

  • Publish the lineup PLS

by it’s aight on 8/18/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 3 out of 5

The show was fine but honestly please publish the lineup order of bands. We bought tickets solely to see Common Kings & if we had known they’d be first we wouldn’t have due to when we could get there because of work. Walked in as they played the last 30sec of the last song, stayed for the whole show but were super disappointed.

  • Best concert vibes of the summer!!

I go to the Dirty Heads concert every year as a birthday present to myself! The bands they tour with and the crowd they bring in have the best vibes to party with. Goonies never say die!

  • Not bad

by KS on 8/8/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 2 out of 5

Paid for the VIP Merch package.. it was a poster, a Fanny pack, a lanyard which did nothing and sunglasses. All seemed pretty cheap. They played okay but nothing like when we saw them at Soul Kitchen in Mobile. Lead Singer singer seemed off while everyone else appeared clear headed. Slightly Stoopid out performed Dirty Heads by leaps and bounds

  • Great Music But Hydrate Your People In The South MS Heat

by ALG on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

Show was amazing and rain delay is understood. The long lines that barely moved and occasions of running out of water could prove to be a danger in South MS. Water stations at the venue would be a huge help and a safety measure.

  • Amazing show!

by LuckyPenny on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

We had so much fun! Common Kings were awesome and did a great job hyping the crowd. Slightly Stoopid rocked it! Dirty Heads were to die for! I would go again right now given the opportunity. Can’t wait to see them again!

  • Best outdoor concert we’ve attended!

by Meg on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed the venue and the show was fabulous! Maybe, add some straight up water bottle stands. It was a task to get just water without waiting in the food lines. Still very happy and can’t wait to attend again one day! Thanks for the recharge we needed!

  • Dreams do come true

by Tyrell on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

Dirty Heads is one of the best bands to ever see live every time they are the best!

  • The Sound / Dirty Heads

by Chadsgirl on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

The Sound is a great area. Would have loved more beverage carts as the hour wait in line and the water/beer were hot! If you have not seen Dirty Heads live is PHENOMENAL. Wish we could have heard Common Kings, unfortunately weather shut them down.

  • Great music terrible amenities.

by Flmac on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 3 out of 5

The music was phenomenal. The venue was very attractive and clean, but the amenities SUCKED! So overpriced. But that was not the worst part. I spent half of the show in line for 3 trips for drinks. There were a hundred people in every line and you would wait an average of 30 to 40 minutes for service each time. It was horrible. Unless they at least double the amount of beverage trucks I won't go back there. Very sad!

  • Great Show & Venue

by Randy on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

The lineup was fantastic! The bands really put on a great show, especially considering the heat and the storm, and did a great job of mixing old favorites with their new stuff. The venue was spectacular. The sound was amazing and the setup was well thought out. As a new venue, there are still some kinks to work out but their investment is obvious and inspires faith that there will be future reinvestments to continually improve.

  • Awesome band !

by Blake on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

The Dirty Heads killed it on tour with Slightly Stoopid! They sounded GREAT in Gautier, MS!! 😎

  • Fantastic!

by Shayne on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

May have been the most fun concert I've been to! My wife and I loved it! The new venue was very nice as well.

  • Amazing summer night with great bands

by PUNKY Bruiser on 8/7/24The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing live show! Loved every moment, need more shows like this on the FL panhandle! Openers were def not long enough to showcase their talents! Beautiful venue! Needed more water stations!

  • What a great concert

by Prissygirl on 8/6/24Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Love Daily’s place as a venue! Sound was wonderful and our seats were terrific!

  • 100% awesomeness

by Matt on 8/6/24Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

the band put on an epic show as always. love the sounds and vibes they give off every time.

  • Awful Acoustics

by KerryB on 8/6/24Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Great band but couldn't hear them because we were on the third tier where the acoustics are so awful songs are unrecognizable. Avoid.

  • A real throw down

by MoreThanSlightlyDirty on 8/5/24Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The opening acts of The Elovators and Common Kings were fitting. Both came out later to perform with the co-headliners and did outstanding on their own. Slightly Stoopid didn’t miss a beat and brought their true sound. The whole crowd bought in. Dirty Heads closed it out in dramatic hand-waving, beat-smashing fashion that rocked the open air arena at Daily’s Place. Great music, great venue. Hope they return.
