Moments of engagement, but disappointing overall

by opus99208 on 2/4/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The stagecraft and visual effects of this show were interesting and at times impressive. The audio engineering was... I have no other word than horrible. Vocals could not be appreciated due to the overwhelming volume of both the vocals and the instruments. My impression of the singing was negative, but the experience may have been different with a more deft touch on the mixing board? It felt like the actors were always shouting rather than projecting.

Ghost- The Musical was an incredible musical

by jimgra on 2/4/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The casting for this musical was superb. Swayze, Moore, and Goldberg would be proud of those that played their characters. From the opening scene through the closing scene each character added talent to the overall storyline. The choreography was great. I believe the audience was pulled into the story and I know around our row there wasn't a dry eye during some of the scenes. The Fortune Teller was spot on and played the role like it was a natural part filled with a little drama and a lot of laughter.

    Very Poor Quality

by texasmanor on 2/4/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The sound was awful...it was so loud it drowned out the performers while giving the audience a headache. I didn't enjoy all those strobe lights directly in my face...in other plays I have seen they were just used on stage. Overall, I just wouldn't recommend this performance....& those garish backdrops of moving traffic...just awful.

    Best show in two years!

by TopShows on 2/4/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The show was amazing. LED and interactive lighting and graphics made this performance a one of a kind show stopper. Seeing is believing what GHOST is about. Outstanding!!!!

I really enjoyed this musical however the sound was very difficult to hear. I don't know if it was the location of our seats since we sat on the front of the balcony or what, but the words seemed mumbled together with the extreme background music.

    Ghost

by musicalgirl08 on 2/3/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

This musical was not really what I excepted. I get the movie was never a musical to begin with but I could not hear the singing that well. Molly and Sam are legends when it comes to this movie. The characters were not up to par like the movie. I expected much more. It was good to see but I would not go again.

    Ghost - VERY Loud

by Disappointed567 on 2/3/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The audio was way too loud. So much so I found myself putting my fingers to my ears to filter the sound. There was also very little dialog in this play and was about 95% singing. I think it needed much more dialog to get the audience involved in the story line.

    Meh...

by Noso0714 on 1/31/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

I attended Ghost The Musical with my family on opening night. We had great seats in the first balcony center section. First off, I must give credit where credit is due, and say that the special effects were extraordinary and the main reason I would recommend this show. The acting was mediocre at best , with the exception of the actors who played Oda Mae and the angry subway ghost. At times it looked like the main characters were running through a dress rehearsal! Their singing was off key and the dancers lacked energy. I will chalk it up to "opening night jitters"

Irving Berlin's White Christmas was wonderful.

by CalebsGrammi on 1/11/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Great play, great music. Worked wonderfully in the Fair Park theater. I was not able to see well around the person in front of me, but we moved to empty seats and were able to see just fine. The actors were great, sound was really good, heard every word spoken and we were in the top balcony!

    White Christmas

by gmomma1 on 1/4/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Even though we enjoyed this AFTER Christmas, it was fabulous. Took my Mom who was in town for the holidays . . . she loves musicals . . . and this did not disappoint. There are so many well-known and remembered songs in this story. Great way to close out the season!

Such a delightful show - while I missed the great "Minstrel" number, I liked the new songs and the fleshing out of the characters like Susan and Martha.

    White Christmas was great!

by SJP0210 on 1/1/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

My family and I really enjoyed seeing White Christmas at the DSM State Fair Theater. The performance was fantastic. I was surprised that the performance had some different songs and performances than the original movie/musical. The newer songs and performances were surprisingly good and different. The whole musical performance was very exciting and beautiful. The only suggestion I would make is that I really think the Intermission needs 5 more minutes. For those who order food ($$$) and drinks for the intermission, have to nearly run to get to their seat, swallow the food, and dash back to their seat to make the curtain call and the bathroom lines are unbelievable. This part I would change.

    Holiday Classic

by player101 on 1/1/14Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

First half was a little slow and slapsticky. Second half began with the hilghlite of the show the pieano segment and the remainder of the show did not match that segment. The end with the snow was fun but I expected to see a whole platoon instead of using the audience as the platoon. Holiday Classic always fun to go to.
