"ALL ABOARD for this saucy and splendid production of Roundabout Theatre Company's ANYTHING GOES, winner of three 2011 Tony Awards® including Best Musical Revival and Choreography! One of the greatest musicals in theater history, Cole Porter's first-class musical comedy is sailing to Chicago, starring critically-acclaimed actress Rachel York as Reno Sweeney and directed and choreographed by Tony Award® winner Kathleen Marshall. The New York Times calls it "Musical-Comedy Joy" and USA Today hails it as "Glorious and Exhuberant!" When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love…proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Peppering this timeless classic are some of musical theatre's most memorable standards, including "I Get A Kick Out Of You," "You're the Top," and of course, "Anything Goes." Don't miss what the AP exclaims as, "So Delightful, So Delicious, So De-Lovely!"
ENjoyed ererything about it!!!! Good music!!! Great dancing!! Geat Fun!!! Would see it again!!!!
This was a geat show, almost as good as Broadway! A must see.
Loved the storyline, the costumes were amazing and the singing was great! Really enjoyed all of the characters and the humor!
Kathleen York was great in this show. The dancing was superb. The one-line jokes were from the orginial and still funny. This is what a musical should be. The staging was great.
excellent, and hope more professional equity shows come to Chicago. Stop bringing us College kids and bring the pros.
What a fun filled show! From amazing period costumes, smart witty writing, a cast with amazing vocal and acting chops, to bold choreography, Anything Goes is a great ngiht of theater. The gorgeous Cole Porter soundtrack caps off this top notch production. The audince had members from 8 to 80 and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. It is a little bit of a throw back piece, but this production is so worth viewing!
First class production - great energy, even at the end of the run! Great sound, voices, sets and costumes (especially Reno's!) Took my son for his college graduation, before he heads to NYC to "make it," and he loved it - a great inspiration for a young performer!
Not knowing what the musical was about I was totally entertained and impressed.
Excellent performance. Singing, dancing was outstanding, sets and costumes terrific.
One of the best shows we've ever seen! - great voices, costumes, music, humor - thoroughly enjoyed it!!
The singing and dancing are great. The lead, Rachel York, is riveting; and the actor who plays the English lord is utterly charming. For some strange reason, he is not listed in the cast on the website, even though he was one of the main characters, and one of the main reasons not to miss this production. The plot is predictable, but the jokes still made me laugh. I had a great time. I'd go again, if someone wanted to buy me a ticket.
Rachel York was excellent. She was a very strong singer and a good dancer. Josh Franklin also did an excellent job of supporting her as well as portraying his own character. All the cast made it an enjoyable evening with the singing and dancing routines.
walk don't run...Hope has a nice voice though her dancing and connection with "Snake Eyes" was very artificial in that she was doing the steps without really looking at him, responding to him and having it feel believable. I've seen community theatre years ago by Glencoe Theatre Co. that was more exciting, which says a lot for their director, choreographer and talent they cast
Anything Goes was one of the best plays we've seen this year. I couldn't get over the fact that it was written in 1934 and still is just as funny and entertaining. The dance numbers were fantastic and the songs were catchy. The whole show was amazing and I have been recommending my friends and family see it. I would see it again in a heartbeat! It was such a treat!
This is an outstanding production and Rachel York is truly special.
This show was the best production we have seen in several years! The talent, singing, dancing and great funny lines all made it memorable! The sets, colors and music is the TOPS! The whole family was loving it! We would all see it again and again. The lead actress was phenomenal! Standing ovation for sure!
The show was fantastic. Rachel York was outstanding. The singing and dancing- so great. Everyone in a supporting role was great as well. The audience was so involved- we were whistling and clapping throughout the show. The finale in Act I had us on our feet. What a wonderful way to escape one's problems for a couple of hours. It was also nice to see many families enjoying the show.
This is a perfect production of this show. Such fun from top to bottom. Stylish and a creative direction -- and then there is that heavenly Cole Porter score. It is hard to believe so many standards came out of one show. The book is pure screwball comedy -- more silly fun than a Marx Brothers movie.
Absolutely wonderful in every way!!! Troop gave its all from beginning to end. Rachel York was a stand-out. Play moved quickly. Great music performed beautifully.
This is by far one of the best performances I have seen in the last ten years. The entire cast was terrific and it made my day.
