About

All the Way is a gripping new play about a pivotal moment in American history and stars three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad”) as President Lyndon B. Johnson.  This drama will take audiences behind the doors of the Oval Office and inside the first years of President Johnson's presidency, and his fight to pass a landmark civil rights bill.  Cranston as President Johnson will lead an ensemble cast playing roles such as Martin Luther King, Jr., J. Edgar Hoover, Hubert Humphrey, Richard Russell, Coretta Scott King, Lady Bird Johnson, Bob Moses and many more.

“Mr. Cranston cuts a vigorous, imposing figure as LBJ in Mr. Schenkkan’s sharply outlined portrait, employing a drawl as wide as a Rio Grande as the new president backstabs his way through the rough waters of a Washington.” -The New York Times

“Bryan Cranston not only lives up to the hype as LBJ, but ALL THE WAY is a sensational night of theater.” -npr

The show begins promptly at the advertised curtain time. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.

    Great Show!

by Nantipa on 7/2/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

All The Way with Bryan Cranston was fantastic. Watching him act is a privilege, and the rest of the cast was wonderful as well. Its too bad the show had to have such a limited engagement. I hope Bryan Cranston heads back to Broadway soon - I won't miss his performance!

Cranston was incredible. Ok, they got some of the history wrong, but the show was highly engrossing. It is a great story, imaginatively told.

    All The Way was riveting!

by SouthburyJoe66 on 7/1/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Intense acting throughout the entire cast make it a cinch to sit through nearly three hours of show time. Bryan Cranston is clearly one of, if not the best actor of our day. He just becomes LBJ on stage, encompassing all of the past President's ways and changing between them in an instant. Supporting cast does a great job and surprisingly, they never seem to become overshadowed by Cranston's remarkable performance. See it before it's gone. Thoroughly enjoyable and gripping.

Bryan Cranston has been recognized for his outstanding performance by winning he Emmy for best actor in a new play. I think it could have run much longer.

All The Way with "All the Way"

by Legalview on 7/1/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Simply superb and utterly engrossing, despite its length. Bryan Cranston captures the essence of Lyndon Johnson, and is surrounded by a first rate cast. I'm sorry its run couldn't be extended, but perhaps Cranston can reprise the role for a look at the later years of Johnson's Administration.

Bryan Cranston was sensational as always

by JeanChristine on 7/1/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

I actually work as an usher in that theatre. I bought the ticket for my mother, because I told her she absolutely could not miss this amazing show. She loved it! It was a bit long, but a lot went on with President Johnson in filling in for President Kennedy and working so hard to get the Civil Rights bill passed. I wished that the show could have been extended, but I think that Mr. Cranston had other obligations. I feel honored to have worked there and happy that my mom who of course remembers much more than me what went on during that turbulent time in our country's history, got to see one of the best shows ever.

All The Way was All The Way Mesmerizing!

by KirklandCouple on 7/1/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Three hours flies by, the story, the cast, the staging. Bryan Cranston is so in character that you really believe he ~is~ LBJ.

Politics ain't pretty but it sure is fun

by ShanghaiBry on 7/1/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

"All the Way" was a wonderful, painless history lesson about the subtleties of politics. With the back room machinations of LBJ, George Wallace, Martin Luther King, and J. Edgar Hoover, it is a wonder any reforms happened with Civil Rights in the 1960s. Although the play is overly long--clocking in at three hours--the tale needed that long to get all the details in. The staging was wonderful, and the performances were fabulous; there was not a weak player in the ensemble. Bryan Cranston portrayed Johnson's profane energy extremely well and even managed to get some sympathy from the audience. In the end, "All the Way" is a compelling piece of theater not because of the writing as much as the dramatic events it displayed. In the hands of less inventive directors and less talented actors, this script could have easily fallen flat. This production did everything right and made for a wonderful theatrical experience.

    All the way was phenomenal.

by Notimetowaste on 7/1/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Brian Cranston is a consummate actor. He invoked LBJ in every gesture, body movement and utterance. What a shame the show has closed, depriving others from seeing this historical drama.

Very good. First half dragged a bit . Poignant characterization of LBJ...very misunderstood figure who will be judged more kindly by history'.
