All the Way is a gripping new play about a pivotal moment in American history and stars three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad”) as President Lyndon B. Johnson. This drama will take audiences behind the doors of the Oval Office and inside the first years of President Johnson's presidency, and his fight to pass a landmark civil rights bill. Cranston as President Johnson will lead an ensemble cast playing roles such as Martin Luther King, Jr., J. Edgar Hoover, Hubert Humphrey, Richard Russell, Coretta Scott King, Lady Bird Johnson, Bob Moses and many more.
“Mr. Cranston cuts a vigorous, imposing figure as LBJ in Mr. Schenkkan’s sharply outlined portrait, employing a drawl as wide as a Rio Grande as the new president backstabs his way through the rough waters of a Washington.” -The New York Times
“Bryan Cranston not only lives up to the hype as LBJ, but ALL THE WAY is a sensational night of theater.” -npr
The show begins promptly at the advertised curtain time. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.
Tremendous production of complex situation with outstanding performances by all, especially Cranston
This play and its star deserved the awards they received and then some. Having lived through this era I felt transported back in time. The entire cast was wonderful. Bryan Cranston delivered a dynamic and powerful performance leaving me hungry for more.
Brian Cranston was all the talk but the supporting cast he had on stage with him was equally amazing. It was a deep look into the craziness that is politics and the tough choices that our politicians have to make, to work with the system. A great story and a great performance by all. So happy we had a chance to experience it!
The cast was great and Cranston was exceptional in his Broadway debut!
All the Way excellent! Bryan Cranston was fantastic!
My husband & I have been to several plays & musicals in NYC. I have to admit when my husband wanted to go see 'All The Way' I wasn't thrilled since I'm not much of a history or political buff. But since I am a big Bryan Cranston fan I agreed to go. I am so glad. It was absolutely fantastic! Humorous at times, very serious at times. Bryan Cranston was wonderful & I actually forgot it was him. All the other actors were also sensational! So glad we got to see it before it closes in July.
Loved it. Very entertaining, very funny, and a good history lesson.
The play was intense and gripping. I'm looking forward to seeing Cranston in the movie version.
Great show. Bryan Cranston is amazing and so are the other cast members. Highly recommend this show.
Bryan Cranston did a very realistic job as LBJ, and the events (which I personally witnessed as a resident of Washington DC during this time) rang very true. It was a memorable time with memorable leaders who made an important change in this country's history. The flawed behavior of these same leaders was also very realistic. Both I and my friend who attended with me found it remarkable.
"All the way" brings the 60's to life. It was astonishing how many of the social issues which divided people then are still very much with us today. The acting was superb, and nuanced. The amount of compromising that was needed to achieve things we take for granted now is food for thought.
Oregon Shakespeare and bryon Cranston combined for such a magnificent evening. Relived these dramatic years!
Gripping play! Bryan Cranston depicted LBJ quite realistically! Brought back forgotten memories of the days of the early 60's. Some good a lot not so good. All of this cast was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed this play
As a history teacher I knew all of the events that were upcoming, did not take away any of the drama of each moment. The tormented nature of LBJ could not have been demonstrated any better. I hope they turn this play into a movie so that I may share the experience with my students more practically.
A play requires character development--confrontation with adversity that changes a character. There is a rising action and a falling action. This was no more than a newsreel of LBJ's election victory in 1964. It is shallow and historically inaccurate in so many places that it is not even as accurate as yellow journalism. Sure, Bryan Cranston carries the vehicle--but one could go off-off Broadway to see Sylvia Milo in Mozart's sister given an even better performance for a fraction of the ticket price. All The Way is just one more piece of highly hyped dreck.
This was my first Broadway play and it was Amazing. I'm so glad I caught it before it was over
OK, I confess, I have now seen this play three times - first time in Cambridge, MA, second a few weeks ago in NY, and now my third time, again, front row center in NY. All I can say is -- it looks as if there may be a couple of seats left for tomorrow's (Sunday's) performance -- GO SEE THIS PLAY!!!! Do whatever you have to do to see it -- who knows how long it may be before you get to see Bryan Cranston on Broadway again. He is magnificent, the play is gripping every moment from beginning to end. I walked past the theater this afternoon and saw a woman standing outside who was willing to pay $450 for a ticket for one of today's performances (sold out). I could sympathize. It's that good. Do whatever you can do to get a ticket -- you won't regret it.
I thought Cranston did a remarkable job portraying LBJ. The supporting cast was also very good, especially John McMartin. Cranston was very funny but knew how and when to play "hard ball."
I cannot say enough about this play, the actors are all excellent. However, Bryan Cranston is a phenomenal performer. His performance is electrifying throughout the play. The energy and understanding of LBJ he bring to life are second to none. And to top it off, he is the nicest actor I have ever met, he makes you feel like you know him personally. He takes his time signing All The Way items (only, no Breaking Bad or Malcolm items please!), for all the photos you want and he is extremely engaging in conversation. Funny, down to earth and a gifted actor in a class all his own. I recommend this play for all the wonderful performers, they really do the subject and historical figures justice. But Cranston steals the show.
Absolutely the MOST amazing acting My husband & I have ever seen. If Bryan reprises the role, we will see it again. Everyone in the cast was fabulous!
