Hilarious...you most likely will have a great time even if you have not read the book. If offended by the f word, don't even think about going. Christian and Jose like you never would have imagined...both are a hoot! Opening night was high energy from the crowd. Lots of anticipation and drinking!
I was there with 5 of my besties in the world. !! We laughed and cried and some may have peed their pants it's a wonderful theatre We did our first Matinee together and loved it
This was extremely funny!!! But needed more "pretty" people. I understand that it was supposed to make it funnier, but it didn't. It drew away from the script. Can't wait to see the other parodies out there to compare.
I was unsure about seeing a parody of 50 Shades--how the heck can it be parodied?!? Well, we were not disappointed. We laughed the entire first act!
I took my two step daughters and daughter in law. All of them have read the book, I have not. We all found this play extremely entertaining and so funny. After the show they all exclaimed that I had chosen a great play to see. We all agreed we would see again because we were laughing so much we felt like we missed a few good lines. All in all I would recommend to anyone who is not a prude :)

I was totally shocked by the 50 Shades musical and it was much funnier than I expected! It is a must see!!
I have to use 50 words, but if I would have to describe it in 1 word, it would be HILARIOUS!! Make sure you have read the book or you won't get it all!
The show was hysterical, but done in a rather amateur style which was reflected by the audience. This was not your typical theater crowd, but a rather rowdy, heavy drinking group looking for some titillating humor.
Simply put: the overall production did not meet typical Broadway in Chicago standards. I understood, and appreciated, several of the choices that were made in staging this production. Other choices, however, were a bit "out there" without being clever. Enjoyed the cast. Overall, a talented ensemble. As always, the experience in the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place was excellent. Always top-notch, friendly staff, particularly the ushers. After braving traffic and fighting the parking garage wars, it was nice to indulge in a drink and kick back while waiting for the doors to open.
I did not know what to expect and was pleasnatly surprised. My girlfriend does not like silly plays and we were laughing out loud. Definitely recommended.
The theater at Water Tower Place has 100 percent great seats. 50 shades is a parody that will make you laugh. It is important that you have read the first book in this series to understand all the jokes. Regular theater-goers will be provided additional laughs when they see the ties to other shows, Les Mis and Phantom. Early on, there is a strong reminder that you are attending a Parody NOT a live showing of Shades. Mr. Gray, an overweight lesser attractive version, entered the stage to groans of disappointment. Behind me I heard "You have got to be kidding me!" Yes, they were kidding; it's a parody! Easier on the eyes were the hard-bodied dancers who certainly appealed to those attending for some excitement.
50 Shades! the Musical was a wonderful time of fun. The ladies in our group laughed non-stop as the actors portrayed the humor of an unusual book. We are hoping for a return to celebrate book 2 and book 3. Great entertainment.
Hilarious, topical, just raunchy enough for a great night of comedy fun. While it's certainly memorable as a girl's night out, guys will score huge points (in more ways than one) while laughing your butt off.
I went with 4 friends to see 50 shades. 3 of us had read the series, the other 2 hadn't. Either way, we all laughed hysterically the entire show. It was beyond what I had expected and would recommend anyone to see it.
This is the second time I saw this show and I enjoyed it more. The venue was more comfortable than the first time I saw it.
This is a must see parody. I have never laughed so much in 90 minutes like I did watching this musical. The actors are AMAZING and Christian Grey is UNBELIEVABLE! Man or woman, you will have a GREAT time! (I do suggest that you at least read the first book before attending)
This musical was really funny and because the theater is small seats in the back were not bad at all. Definitely a good time and lots of laughing!
I have never seen a more funny play in my life. If you've read "50 Shades of Grey", you must see this play. Before I went to see this parody of the book, I was wondering how could you possibly make this into something funny. Well, I was quite surprised! This play was Awesome! The actors were so talented and VERY entertaining. I also loved their interaction with some of the audience. I hope this play tours the country. I traveled from Louisville to Chicago especially to see it. I would definitely see it again, if it came to my hometown.
Hilarious, see it! A good outing for a group or a couple spending a night out.
