    Humorous-very entertaining

by gran9 on 10/28/13Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This musical was hilarious! Very entertaining but not recommended for under 21 age group. Venue seating was awesome-not a bad seat in the house. You do not need to read the books to enjoy but it helps to have some knowledge of them. More of a chick play but is entertaining for men as well. I'd see this again and highly recommend it to friends and family.

    Not worth it

It was nothing like the video clips. Spank was much better and less money.

    50 Shades the Musical Chicago

by friendswhotravel on 10/27/13Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

There were a few funny parts but mostly it was very mediocre. The 4 of us who travel together all felt the same. We have seen 5 plays in Chicago in the last year and this is by far the one we would put at the bottom of the list.

The music/singing was great and the comedic writing of this production was wonderful! Everyone was laughing throughout the entire performance! I would definitely recommend it.

We found some spots very funny and entertaining, but all in all it felt like a high school play.

BELLY laugh funny! 100% raunchy. Do not take you teens even if they read the books. This is definitely an adult show!

    Funny, rude, great singing.

by BahamaSailor on 10/25/13Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Pros - The songs were outrageous and funny. The acting was great. Cons - I was expecting more of a set/stage. The actor playing Christian Grey is so gross - I know this was the point, but still... Not that he didn't do a good job with his part - an excellent job in fact, but really, how can you go home and fantasize about him?!? LOL Biggest complaint? The Inner Goddess was listed on the playbill but never appeared. What the heck?

The show was hilarious! The story line was funny but the actors actions and demeanor was just fantastic! We enjoyed every minute

    50 shades! OMG!!!

by snowball47 on 10/25/13Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

My husband and I laughed through the entire play. I have read the books, he has not. He was a little shocked at the beginning until I explained the parody. The song by "Christian" where he said the "F" word at least 50 times was a little too much, but on the whole we really enjoyed the play.
