Zebra on Tour
Zebra galloped out of New Orleans in early 1975. The trio, consisting of Randy Jackson, Felix Hanemann and Guy Gelso, concocted their moniker from a 1926 Vogue magazine cover and soon won over the South and East Coast. In 1982 Zebra's self-titled debut album went gold and was the fastest selling debut album in Atlantic Records' history thanks to the radio and MTV airplay of "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind the Door?". Veteran producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick) also helmed the follow-up, "No Tellin' Lies". The songs range from the hard-rocking "Wait Until the Summer's Gone" to the Beatle-esque ballad, "Lullaby". With the release of their third Atlantic album "3.V", Zebra took their career one step farther: the album's credits read "Produced by Randy Jackson and Zebra". Thus, for the very first time, the group gained complete control of its creative output. A collection of the finest songs they have ever written, "3.V" clearly shows Zebra's lasting power and originality. In all, Zebra fans enjoyed a total of five videos aired on MTV and have given the band combined album sales of nearly 2 million worldwide. Zebra emerged from the studio again in 2003 with "ZEBRA IV", on Mayhem Records. This could possibly be the best effort by Zebra to date with powerful cuts which include "Arabian Nights", "Why" and "Waiting To Die". Zebra's live performances often last over two hours and showcase their new material along with all the classic Zebra tunes: "Who's Behind the Door?", "Tell Me What You Want", "Wait Until the Summer's Gone", "Bears", "One More Chance" and other all-time favorites including an occasional Led Zeppelin cover. "ZEBRA THE DVD", released in 2008 captures the band's energy and power on stage. The DVD features live concert footage from both Long Island and the House of Blues in New Orleans in addition to several interviews and bonus features. In 2010 Zebra was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and is acknowledged as Louisiana's #1 Rock and Roll band by the Louisiana Music Commission. On October 18, 2012 Zebra was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Celebrating their 40 Anniversary in 2015 Zebra continues to WOW audiences across the country with their Hard-Rocking Live shows performing in select markets nationwide.-Making a Triumphant Return to NYC in November 2019.

Saw Zebra at house of blues Houston. One of the top shows I’ve seen of hundreds in in my life
I grew up with them in New Orleans. They stated as a Led Zeppelin cover band that played at CYO gatherings. They were always great and moved on with their own music through MTV times. Randy is still unbelievable and his falsetto voice remains unmatched! Thanks for a great time! You Still Rock!
Nothing but praise for Zebra. Great show and even my 20 year old son who knows none of their music walked away impressed.
The crowd was super cool too! I enjoyed the whole event.
Very easy to get around the venue, like the patio. The show itself was excellent, great musicianship. They played their debut album, all the songs were played so well. Randy’s vocals on point and still has the range. The other players supremely talented. Would see this band again, if they come back.
Seeing them again they sounded like i was seeing them 40 years ago back on Long Island. I could not tell the difference.
The band was superb and the venue really good organized
First off I did not know there were 3 bands playing but was very surprised the first two were very good. The venue was great, very clean and polite friendly staff. I was happy chairs were set up instead of SRO and I was thrilled they were selling shirts!!! The one thing I did not like was that I was front row but with the way the lights were I was looking up the whole show and part of the show I could not see the performers very well but I loved every minute of the venue and the show and zebra kicked butt!!!
The 6/1 Zebra show was my 30th time seeing them and they have never disappointed! They still rock just as hard as they did when I first starting seeing them many moons ago. Guy is a GOD on drums ! Just a truly great band
Amazing as always! I’ve seen Zebra many, many times since the mid-80’s and they are honestly as good today as they ever were. They are my favorite live band and never disappoint.
First saw the band almost 46 yrs ago to the day. They got better with time. Brought back lots of memories of Hammerheads and Speaks...bravo.
When we met them in person backstage they were very down to earth and approachable. They autographed everything we asked and we got pictures with the band.
I was in complete shock! Zebra was amazing! I felt like I went back in time. The singer not only knocked it out of the park - he’s a great guitarist! I would definitely see them again.
They sound phenomenal! Randy, Felix and Gus still can hit those notes and play badass!
Outstanding performance! Awesome job all around from the quick efficient set up by the roadies to the excellent sound system to Randy's amazing vocals and playing to Felix's playing both bass guitar and organ and Guy's drumming and also to Chilly Willie's saxophone on some numbers. What a great band! If you missed this show, go to a Zebra concert anywhere. They are playing all over the USA this summer. They are a must see and listen too.
Celebrating their 40 year anniversary of the first album Zebra is still rocking! I have seen them back in the beginning at local clubs and met them several times, it’s been a few years since I seen them play but I was not disappointed they sounded amazing!
Seeing these 3 again in an intimate venue after all these years- just amazing. Kind of a bucket list tick for me, as I haven't had a chance to hear them live in (gulp!) 35 years or so- They still got it- and then some. It was weird to have seats- but the audience was pretty-not old-uh- experienced. Coulda been louder, coulda lost the warm up band, coulda had Randy profess his love back to me, but otherwise 5 stars and then some...Thank you, Randy, Felix and Guy. 'Til we meet again.
Zebra is still great after all these years. The sound system at the Paramount was not to my liking and apparently some of the others in the audience. We know Randy can still hit those notes so don't drown him out, let us hear him. The lighting on the audience was horrible, don't blind us while we are into the music.
Randy Jackson and Zebra are still outstanding!!! Show started a little late, could’ve done with 1 warm up band. Randy Jackson hasn’t lost anything vocally, sounds as good as he did 40 years ago. Sound system in the Paramount could have been a bit clearer and crisper, maybe a little less volume. Overall a great show.
Opening acts may have needed to tweak sound a little more (distorted at times) but headliners were perfect! Atmosphere was great as well!
