It was a once in a lifetime experience, watching the maestro perform live was an absolute joy and unforgettable experience. Saw him perform for the first time and I would love to see him again. He owns the instrument, the control and variations that he has is incredible, a true legend in every aspect. The show started right on time and the musicians accompanying him, the lady,Chaudhary on Flute and Sabir Khan on Sarangi were amazing. Worth watching again and again.
Brilliant concert. Playful and intense, the improvisations on Raag Kirwani were brilliant. All three players brought their A game and sounded wonderful. Would definitely go again.
What a mind blowing performance by Ustad Zakir Hussain and two talented ladies!
I was in absolute awe for the 1.5 hours. Shat shat naman to the Triveni. This was my first Indian Classical concert and I just wished there would have been some explanation for armature like me to appreciate the true depths of the performances even more.
The concert was excellent but was for a very short duration of under 75 mins. Expected that this would be at least about 2 hrs.
One of the best concerts I've ever seen! Zakir Hussain, Kala Ramnath, and Jayanthi Kumaresh are masters of their instruments in the true sense of the word.
This was the third time we have seen Zakir live. While always unbelievable this time was particularly magical. First of all it was the third try in three years with two previous pandemic cancellations but it was worth the weight. Triveni with Kala and Jayanthi played a fusion of north and South Indian classical music that was distinctive masterful. The combination of melodies and rhythms played with such intensity just transformed the hall. Looking forward to the next time and hearing more from this team.
The Moore theater had everything worked out well to handle the program well! Even though the line at the entry was winding down around nearly 1/2 a block, it didn’t take long for us to get in (10 minutes?). The audio was very good for this 3 artiste ensemble (two stringed and one percussion). Overall a great experience!
It was high performance. The other colored drum sound was perfectly harmonized
But the show was too short, the last show at NJ PAC WAS over 190 minutes in comparison this was only and 100 minutes, Not complaining but it takes us over 3 hours to get there for such a short time
I feel Fortune that I was able to attend his concert. One HR and 45 mts or beautiful music .
It was amazing for the whole family to experience the culmination of Indian performing arts, right here in southwest Florida! Outstanding venue and conveniently located near the highway. Hope to see more of these events over there!
The entire event was well organized. The performance by maestro and the rest of crew was out worldly. I didn't think I would enjoy it so much.
Excellent concert, but, I purchased pre-paid parking with my tickets for the parking garage 1 block away. Unfortunately, when I scanned the barcode at the garage entry, it said, "Not Authorized." There were cars behind me and no way to exit, so I was forced to take a ticket to raise the barrier and pay for parking twice. Paid Ticketmaster $9 ahead of time, paid the garage an additional $7.
I've been blessed to be present at many, many, truly great performances, classical, rock, jazz, world, etc. Some genuinely life-changing. This performance from Zakir and his fellow musicians is right up there with the best. Having seen him before with Shakti and other ensembles, we weren't sure what to expect. The performance was truly inspired, and in fact was dedicated to Zakir's father, Allarakha. This was musicality, rhythm, lyricism, and love manifest. We'll never forget the experience. It lives at a cellular level within us. Deep gratitude to Zakir, Niladri Kumar, Eric Harland, and the Drummers of Kerala.
Interesting, evocative, effusive, and worthy of other superlatives besides.
Zakir Hussain's ability to seamlessly integrate into a single experience a variety of percussionists across the world is amazing,
He is a legend. Truly a master of percussion. Simply Fantastic job.
